Floral Elixir Angelic Lilac by Viorica Cosmetics review

Recently I went on a trip to Brasov because we had a few days off, and of course I had to go at least one time to do some shopping. The new Viorica Cosmetics store was launched just a week before. I read good things about their perfumes online, but I wanted to be able to smell them first before buying one, so I did and I went home with two, one rose scented one for my mom and a lilac scented one for me because I love the scent of lilacs and it’s a flower that is rarely used in perfumes.

The Viorica Cosmetics story begins in the 1980s, in the Republic of Moldova when it was first opened in Chisinau. The factory supplied all kinds of cosmetic products all throughout the URSS member states. The factory has become a private entity only in 2012, when they started to relaunch products in the beauty industry. In 2016, they established their own plantation called Viopark, where dozens of plants species are ecologically grown to be used in their products.

The perfumes that I bought are part of the Floral Elixir line, which consists of 5 perfumes in which a floral note is predominant: rose, lilac, jasmine, peony and lily of the valley.

Packaging:

The perfumes comes in a white sleek bottle with a wooden cap and it contains 60 ml. I also like the cardboard outer packaging, but I think it’s too big for the size of the bottle. I appreciate the fact that the packaging is of good quality, even if this is in affordable perfume.

Perfume notes

Top notes: linden flower and freshly cut grass

Middle notes: lilac, jasmine and nutmeg

Base notes: vanilla and iris

Price and accessibility:

Viorica Cosmetics products are available in Douglas stores, in the brand’s own stores and through their online shop. A perfume from the Floral Elixir line is sold for around 22 euros, but they do also have some that are little more expensive.

My overall opinion:

While I love the perfume because it has one of the best clean floral scents that I tried so far, and it doesn’t smell like a synthetic note but just like the real thing, it doesn’t have much longevity. On the other hand, since it’s an affordable perfume, it’s not the end of the world if it need to be reapplied throughout the day.

I wanted to give it a chance because it’s a somewhat locally made perfume since the Republic of Moldova is our neighboring country and I also wanted to try something else, not just the same perfumes everyone else is using. I’m not sorry I did and maybe I will give some of their other perfumes a chance too.
