NARS Orgasm Blush review

NARS’ Orgasm blush is one of the most iconic makeup products there is. Everyone knows of it or at least has heard of it. So, when I finally got my hands on a mini-sized blush I was happy to see what the fuss was all about.

NARS is a brand founded in 1994 by a makeup artist named Francois Nars. It should come as a surprise because many successful makeup brands were founded by people who actually worked in the industry and who knew what they needed to create to fulfill their vision.

Packaging:

The packaging is very simple, just a black plastic case with a rubber finish and the white writing on the front. Of course, it also has a mirror. It suits the entire branding because it’s all about the products, not the packaging. The full size product contains 4.8 grams, but I have only a mini size.

Texture:

To be honest, the photo doesn’t do it justice because all that shows on camera is the shimmer. It’s a silky formula, very fine milled and it feels lightweight. It’s also a very nice peachy pink shade with golden shimmer, a versatile and buildable color for most skin tones.

Price and accessibility

NARS products are available in some online shops and usually not the entire range. Of course, they can also be purchased thought the brand’s own online shop. The blush is sold for 37 euros, which is expensive, but there are certainly more expensive blushes out there. And at least a blush does last for a long time (in my case it does).

My overall opinion:

Look, I don’t think it’s a miracle product, but I see where the appeal is because it’s such a beautiful and flattering color and it also sits nicely on the skin, but it’s not like it can magically transform an entire makeup look. Considering that I for one can use a blush for a long time because I usually apply it with a light hand, I could see myself committing to an expensive one or at least to repurchase travel-sized products because the quality is the same, just the size is smaller.
