Since I’m already counting the days until I will finally go on vacation, at the beach no less, I decided to buy one of those wax heaters and some was to use at home. I was certain I can do it myself and why not, I like my beauty rituals and I wanted to find something better for the leg area because shaving makes my hair grow faster and hair removal devices come with ingrown hairs even when I use body scrubs and oils for skin care.
Now, I won’t deny it, I got a cheap device, but I was confident that everything will work out because I have a couple of friends who ordered some UV lamps to do their nails from the same website and they work just fine. So I got a bundle consisting of a wax melting device, a bottle of wax beans, some wood spatulas a before waxing solution and an after waxing body oil. I paid around 25 euros for all of it, so it wa a cheap buy.
Luxorise wax heater

The device itself is quite cute. It’s pink, it colds up to 500 grams of wax and it’s really easy to use. You just put it on high temperature, wait for the wax to melt and then you keep it on medium temperature while you use it. It comes with a power charging cord and it does take some time until the wax melts, but it gets the job done in the end.
Senso Pro wax and body oils

I got a bottle of wax beads with a very nauseating rose scent, but it was a mistake because I was supposed to receive bubblegum scented ones. Also, there is some body oil with aloe to use before applying the hot wax and some eucalyptus and olive body oil to use after the was is removed.

And that’s how the wax looks while it melts. I don’t stir it, I just let the wax beads melt on their own. The device turns on and off on its own and like I said, it does take some time to melt it.

Pardon my chubby leg, but that’s how the wax looks when applied. To be honest, I don’t know if the device makes it hot enough because I can apply it right away on the leg without burning my leg. Also, the wax has a strange consistency, it looks like liquid plastic. I mean, I know how hot wax looks and that’s not it.

And this is the final result. The wax strips can be removed very fast and all they took away were just a few hairs (which you can see if you look closely at the picture and if you’re not grossed out by it).
I did this twice already and the result was the same every time: an epic fail because the hair is still there. The only thing I like about it all is the after waxing body oil that does feel really nice and makes the skin softer and smoother, but that’s just because I’m really into body oils lately.
So, unless I’m really bad at waxing my legs at home (which might as well be true), the device or the wax beads or both of them are crap and a waste of money.
For now, I’ll just use my hair removing electrical device and I’ll try another type of wax. If that doesn’t work either, I’ll just gift the device to one of my friends if they want it.
