Avant Reconstructing Keratin Complex Ultra Shine Cream review

Well, this is a first for me, since I thought that Avant only does skin care products. I came upon this hair cream in a deluxe size so I got to try it for a few time and here is what I have to say about it.

Packaging:

Since I only have a deluxe sample, it comes in a tube, but the full size product is available in a brown jar that contains 100 ml. I still think it’s not enough for a full size product because it doesn’t say anywhere that it should be used only once or twice a week.

Texture:

The cream looks just like a conditioner. It’s white and it has a pleasant scent, but it’s quite thick, so I would definitely mistake it for a conditioner.

Ingredients:

Aqua (water), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, myristyl alcohol, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, cetyl alcohol, hydrogenated castor oil /sebacic acid copolymer, parfum (fragrance), cetrimonium chloride, phenoxyethanol, polyester-11, panthenol, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, ethylhexylglycerin, xylitylglucoside , anhydroxylitol , maltitol, lactic acid, hexyl cinnamal, xylitol, coumarin, linalool, alpha-isomethyl ionone, sodium benzoate, biotin, tocopherol, pelvetia canaliculata extract, sorbic acid.

There are some nice ingredients in here like the aloe vera juice, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, biotin and keratin.

Price and accessibility:

I haven’t seen Avant products here, other than a few skin care products that are available through a subscription box, but they can always be ordered from the brand’s online shop. This hair cream is sold for 77 euros, which is a huge amount for a hair cream, but there are always sales going on. Even so, I wouldn’t pay 50 euros for a hair cream, let’s be honest.

My overall opinion:

The hair cream should be applied on damp hair after washing it and it should be rinsed out. Well, I tried that at first and it was an epic fail for my oily thin hair. As a conditioner yes, it makes the hair frizz-free and shiny, but if I don’t rinse it out, the hair looks oily. So, maybe this is a hair cream more suitable for dry hair, but it doesn’t say anywhere on the packaging or on the website that it’s only for a certain type of hair. So, I would say it’s a nice product, but it’s more like a fancier conditioner or like a light hair mask. I’m not sorry that I got to try it, but I wouldn’t pay so much money for it (or for any ridiculous priced Avant product to be honest).
