Aveeno Skin Relief Body Oil Spray review

Aveeno is a brand that I’ve heard about before but this it the first time that I’m using one of their products. I was surprised to see that they’re part of the Johnson & Johnson company, but then again, they’re specialized mostly in body care products so I guess it was supposed to be expected. I’ve been keen on using body oils lately, so I was curious to see how this body oil works.

Packaging:

The body oil comes in a plastic spray bottle and it contains 200 ml. I thought that it would be more convenient this way, but this body oil is really…oily so to say and I made a mess around me on the floor each time I used it. So no, I don’t like it that way. A bottle with a dropper would have been more practical.

Texture:

Like I said, this body oil is very oily, so it’s a bit thicker than the ones I was used to (that were probably also less concentrated). It has a yellow color and a little bit of a scent, but I think it’s more because of the ingredients, since it should contain much perfume being suitable for dry and sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

GLYCINE SOJA OIL, AVENA SATIVA KERNEL (OAT) OIL, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS SEED OIL, LECITHIN, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, TOCOPHEROL, PARFUM.

The ingredients list is very simple, the main ingredients been glycerin (from soya), oat kernel oil and jojoba oil.

Price and accessibility:

Aveeno products are available in Romania in a few online shops. This particular body oil is sold for around 12.5 euros, so it is a bit expensive, but considering that you don’t need as much as in the case of a body lotion, I would say that it’s cost-effective.

My overall opinion:

I usually use for body care any type of products I get my hands on, but I think this body oil really is more suitable for dry skin. It doesn’t absorb fast into the skin (at least not in my opinion) and I always make a mess when I apply it, so I can’t say that I’m a fan. But for someone with very dry skin or during the winter it might be a better option.
