Pixi Beauty Blush Duo review

Pixi Beauty was one of those European brands that had everyone talking at some point, but then they went over sea in the US and now, it seems like there’s some radio silence around them. The brand was founded by makeup artist Petra Strand and they began to become really popular when they started to put out skin care products as well. Many beauty influencers were raving about their Glow Tonic and that’s how I found out about the Pixi Beauty brand. This blush duo in the shade Peach Honey is the first makeup product that I try from them.

Packaging:

The blush duo comes in a plastic case with a lid, a very simple packaging, like you would expect from a drugstore product. Pixi Beauty products usually have that cute green packaging. The case contains 10 grams of product.

Texture:

To be honest the powders are not that special, they are not the most finely milled powders I have tried, but they are also not too rough on the skin. I don’t know why this is called a blush duo, because for me, it looks like a blush and a highlighter. Probably because you could wear the blush on its own or mixed with the highlighter for that extra glow. Although, it would be difficult to pick up just the blush on the brush since the case is not that large.

Ingredients:

Mica, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyisobutene, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Yellow 5 (CI 19140).

Price and accessbility:

As far as I can tell, Pixi Beauty products are available in Romania only in Sephora stores, but I couldn’t find the price for the blush duo (probably because they carry mostly the skin care products), but I found a set in the brand’s US online shop that contains the blush duo and a kabuki brush for 18 US dollars. So, I don’t know how much the blush is worth.

My overall opinion:

I do like the Peach Honey shades of the blush duo because they look very natural and perfect for everyday makeup, but other than that, I don’t think there is something special about them. I do think, that Pixi Beauty products in general are suitable for a more natural, discreet makeup look and that’s what I like to wear. Would I want to try more from the brand? Perhaps, I mean, I would like to try their Hello Kitty eyeshadow palette, although the packaging is really cheapy and it’s not that special. But the many shades of pink do look appealing to me, so who knows?
