Catrice Pure False Lash Mascara review

Catrice is a sister-brand of essence, but I always turn to essence more because they have a more fun and colorful design. Although I shouldn’t because essence is targeted towards a young audience, while Catrice is the more “serious” brand. Also, the prices of Catrice products are a little higher. However, I was in need of a new mascara and I picked this little guy from my local DM store seduced by the promise that it would give me a nice false lashes effect.

Packaging:

I won’t lie, the packaging is kind of flimsy and it looks cheap. It’s made of light plastic, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise because it’s a cheap product. The tube contains 10 ml. The wand is one of those thin, curvy ones, that makes it very easy to apply the mascara even at the inner corners of the eye.

Texture:

The mascara has light texture, is not one of those clumpy mascaras and it has no scent. The shade is Beyond Black, so it’s very dark in color and I like how it emphasizes the natural color of my lashes.

Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), HYDROGENATED OLIVE OIL, BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2, MYRICA PUBESCENS FRUIT CERA (MYRICA PUBESCENS FRUIT WAX), OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, GLYCERIN, ORYZA SATIVA CERA (ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) BRAN WAX), STEARIC ACID, PALMITIC ACID, GLYCERYL STEARATE, RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA (COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) WAX), ACACIA SEYAL GUM, SHOREA ROBUSTA RESIN, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) OIL UNSAPONIFIABLES, COCOYL HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, TOCOPHEROL, POLYURETHANE-34, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, RAYON, XANTHAN GUM, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, LAURETH-21, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, METHYLPROPANEDIOL, ASCORBIC ACID, SILICA, PHENYLPROPANOL, AMINOMETHYL PROPANOL, CITRIC ACID, PHENOXYETHANOL, SODIUM METABISULFITE, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, CI 77266 (BLACK 2) (NANO), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES).

This is a cruelty free and vegan formula that contains no parabens, alcohol, microplastic or perfume. It contains vegan collagen and fibers, hence the lengthening effect.

Price and accessibility:

Catrice products are available in DM stores and in several online shops. I got mine for the price of around 4 euros, but in some times, I’m sure it’s sold for even cheaper. Given the quality of the mascara, I think this is not only an affordable price, but it’s a steal.

My overall opinion:

It’s not the first fiber mascara that I use, and I like fiber mascaras because they coat each lash and make them look fuller and thicker. Some fiber mascaras are not that good because tiny black streaks fall out during wearing, but it’s not the case of this mascara. This one is adds both length and volume, it stays put and it doesn’t streak. So, I would say, that it can easily rival with more expensive drugstore mascaras that are sold for double or even third the price. Therefore, I would totally recommend the Pure False Lash mascara, because let’s be real, it doesn’t make my lashes look like false lashes, but the differences are easily noticeable opposed to my natural lashes.
