Mayie Bourbon Rose Floral Water review

At first, I didn’t know if I wanted to do a review on this rose water because what is there to write about, right? It’s just rose water, pure and simple. But since this is part of my skin care routine now, I decided to do it because I’m really into a more natural approach to skin care and, like I said before, I love Mayie products.

Packaging:

The rose water comes in a dark glass bottle with a sprayer and it contains 50 ml. It’s a really nice packaging that makes it easy to apply the rose water by spraying it on the face or on a cotton disk and spreading it gently all over the skin.

Texture:

It’s a clear water with a beautiful rose scent. Personally, I think the scent is very discreet and I do like the smell of Bourbon roses a lot more than the one of of the Damascus roses. I don’t know why they don’t use Bourbon rouses in all of their products, but probably there must be a reason to it.

Benefits of rose water for the skin:

Instead of listing the ingredients, which is pointless since the bottle contains only rose water, nothing more and nothing less, no alcohol, no perfume, nothing else.

Rose water has an antioxidant effect on the skin, it’s astringent, antibacterial, it’s calming and it reduces inflammation. Therefore, it’s great product to be used as a toner in addition to other creams and serums.

Price and accessibility:

Mayie products are available in the brand’s online shop and in the Douglas online store. I got mine for around 7 euros, which is still affordable, but it is a rather small quantity compared to other floral waters.

My overall opinion:

I like it as a toner and I do feel like it does brighten up the skin and it feels refreshing, but I wouldn’t say that it’s any more special than any other rose water. My opinion is that, if you would like to use rose water, any rose water would be good, as long as it doesn’t contain other irritating ingredients such as alcohol or perfume.
