Ciate London Marbled Metals Eyeshadow review

Lately I’ve been more and more interested in cream eyeshadows. Not that I didn’t like them before, but my only complaint is that they always dry out on me before I get to use a large part of the product. Anyway, I got this little guy in my Lookfantastic box. This is part of a collection of metallic glitter eyeshadows. There are 7 shades available, but I have only this one called Wicked-Amethyst. I don’t mind it though, because it’s a beautiful lilac shade that complements my hazel eyes.

Packaging:

The eyeshadow comes in a little jar with a lid. The full size product contains 4 grams, but I have a smaller size that contains only 2 grams. Perhaps now I will be able to use it since it’s not that big.

Texture:

Although it’s a metallic eyeshadow, it’s very creamy and it doesn’t look gritty. It applies very easy, but it’s more like a topper eyeshadow, something that I would use on top of a more vibrant color. However, for that wash of color effect, it’s very suitable. because of the flash, the swatch looks silver because it’s a cool-toned color, but in reality it’s a very nice lavender shade.

Ingredients:

Mica, Dimethicone, C20-24 Alkyl Dimethicone, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Octyldodecanol, Dimethiconol, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Pentylene Glycol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Tin Oxide [May contain / Peut Contenir / +/-: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510)]

The formula is cruelty free and vegan.

Price and accessibility:

Ciate London products are available only through online shops in Romania. The full size of this eyeshadow is sold for 22 UK pounds on the brand’s online shop. It’s a bit expensive for only one eyeshadow, but the quality is nice.

My overall opinion:

I like the shade very much and the fact that it adds shimmer to the eyelid without looking like it’s too much, but I can’t say that I would pay so much for just one eyeshadow. Especially since, like all cream eyeshadows it will probably dry out before I will be able to use it up. However, the eyeshadow didn’t crease on me and I have droopy eyelids (I did use an eye primer though), so I would say that at least for that it’s worth it. If you’re a fan of soft metallic eyeshadows that don’t look chunky or over the top, I would say that the Marbled Metals collection from Ciate London does look interesting. And since most of the shades are currently sold out, I think they’re a hit.
