Elemis Superfood Midnight Facial review

As fancy as the name of this product sounds, it’s basically just a night cream. But, on the upside, it’s from Elemis so I love it. I liked everything I’ve tried from Elemis so far and I’m sorry they’re out of my budget.

Packaging:

The face cream is available in two sizes, the full size jar that contains 50 ml and a travel size (which I have) and that comes in a tube that contains 15 ml. Either way, they’re both pink and cute and I like to see them on my bathroom shelf.

Texture:

The face cream has a thick texture, so you don’t need to apply much, but it doesn’t feel oily or greasy and it does leave the skin really soft. It’s white and it has a delicious scent, something like berries. I kid you not, it smells like dessert.

Ingredients:

Aqua/Water/Eau, PEG-8, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hydroxyacetophenone, Phenoxyethanol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Fragrance (Parfum), Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Bentonite, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil, Limonene, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Propanediol, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Lithothamnion Calcareum Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Flower Extract, Citral, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Tocopherol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate.

The list is very long, like all Elemis products, especially those from the Superfood line. The key ingredients noted on the brand’s website are camu camu (a fruit rich in vitamin C), banana flower extract and cocoa butter. Also, the prebiotics in this are very good for the skin. So yes, I can see where the name Midnight Facial comes from.

Price and accessibility:

Elemis products are available in a couple online shops, but they can be bought from online shops from Europe or from the UK. The price for the full size product is 56 euros, while the travel size costs 22 euros. It’s pricy, that’s true, but at least a little goes a long way.

My overall opinion:

I think you can figure from what I wrote so far that I do like this night cream very much and I do like how my skin looks in the mornings, after using it. The only downside to it is that it’s expensive, but if you can afford expensive skin care, Elemis is a very nice brand to at least try out.
