Frank Body Caffeinated Scalp Scrub review

If you’re not new on my blog, you already know I have a little problem with my hair because it’s thin, flat and it gets oily fast. So, when I got this scalp scrub in my Lookfantastic box, I was happy because I thought to myself that maybe this is the answer to all my problems. After all, a healthy scalp should be important for healthy hair, right?

Frank Body is an Australian skin care company that sells all kinds of products, but mostly scrubs and most of them contain coffee. I myself do love me some coffee both for internal and external use, so I’m intrigued.

Packaging:

The scrub comes in a plastic tube that contains 125 ml. It’s not much, but it’s also not little. I think I use a little more than I should on each application because I can’t manage to spread out just a small amount over the entire scalp, but it is enough to use the product for quite some time.

Texture:

Since it is a scrub, it does look like one, meaning that it has those small coffee bean grains in it. It’s light brown and it has a strong peppermint scent. Since I like peppermint, it is a nice scent for me and it also feels refreshing.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Pumice, Lauryl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Citric Acid, Lecithin, Sodium Chloride, Tocopherol,Dehydroacetic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Dipotassium Phosphate, Caffeine, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Sodium Citrate, Alcohol, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Symphytum Officinale Root Extract, Limonene

The key ingredients are green coffee, rosemary (good for hair growth) and peppermint (it helps to remove product build-up). Also, there’s sweet almond oil and common comfrey extract in it.

Price and accessibility:

Frank Body products are available at Sephora, Douglas and in several online shops. This scalp scrub is sold for 20 euros on the brand’s online shop. It’s not cheap, but it’s also not that expensive considering that you don’t have to use it every time you wash your hair.

My overall opinion:

I used the scalp scrub every other time when I would wash my hair, which means just about twice a week. I must say, I didn’t notice any improvement regarding my hair so far, unfortunately, but there are definitely no flakes or dandruff and my scalp does look very nice and clean. It sparked my interest regarding using a scalp scrub on regular basis, even if it’s not precisely this one.
