I don’t usually write much about brow products because I don’t use (I’m very lucky that at least I have beautiful natural brows), but since I did get this little guy in my Lookfantastic beauty box, why not?
Packaging:
The brow tamer comes in a plastic tube and it has a wand, just like a clear mascara. It contains 4.5 ml, which is kind of small, but I don’t use it every day (mostly because I forget).
Texture:
It’s just an unscented clear gel that feels a little bit sticky. Something you would expect from a brow fixing gel.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Panthenol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium Edta, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Sodium Sulfite.
I appreciate the aloe vera leaf extract and the panthenol as key ingredients because these are good to strengthen and care for the brow hair.
Price and accessibility:
Pixie Beauty products are available in Sephora stores (some of the products) and through some online shops. This brow gel is sold in the brand’s online shop for 11.90 UK pounds, which I have to say it’s a bit much for just a clear brow gel.
My overall opinion:
Although it’s a simple product, I do enjoy it because it does what it says. It does keep my brows in place, especially when it’s windy outside and it looks perfectly natural. To be honest, from what I’ve tried so far from Pixi Beauty, even though their products don’t exactly scream “buy me” when you see them and they’re not out of the ordinary, they do work and are perfect for a natural makeup look.
