Mayie Micellar Water review

Happy Holidays everyone! You’re probably wondering what the heck I’m doing on Christmas Day on my blog, but now I have a few days off from work, so what better time to do a few reviews right? You already know I love Mayie products and that’s why I’m slowly going through them all.

Packaging:

The micellar water comes in a dark glass bottle with a sprayer and it contains 100 ml. Personally I don’t like the sprayer option because I use micellar water with a cotton pad, but I suppose it’s good for those who spray it directly on the face. Also, the size is not that big, considering that most micellar waters come in those big 400 ml bottles.

Texture:

It’s a clear water that has a strong lavender scent as far as I can tell. Since I’m not crazy about lavender scent, that’s the one that irks me a little bit about this micellar water.

Ingredients:

Lavandula angustifolia flower water*, Salvia sclarea flower water*, Rosa damascena flower water*, glycerin**, sodium lactate**, polyglyceryl-6 caprylate**, polyglyceryl-4 caprate**, gluconolactone**, sodium benzoate**, calcium gluconate**, sodium phytate**, Lavandula angustifolia oil*, sodium hydroxide**.

The ingredients in this are lavender water, rose water and clary sage water. All ingredients are of natural origin, the product is vegan and cruelty free.

Price and accessibility:

Mayie products are available through the brand’s online shop and a few of the products are also available at Douglas. This micellar water is sold for around 6 euros, which is a bit much considering that the quantity is small.

My overall opinion:

To be honest I didn’t noticed anything special on my skin, like I did with their cleanser or the SPF face cream that are some of my favorites. It’s like a regular micellar water and it removes makeup fairly well. it is gentle since it doesn’t irritate my eyes, but since it’s only 100 ml I will go through this much faster. Plus, since I don’t like the lavender scent, I think I will stick to my favorites, the Nivea rose micellar water and the Garnier ones. I know those are not 100% natural, but honestly I like them better and I use which ever products I like the most, regardless of the brand.
