Rodial products are high end skin care that I can’t afford and I only get samples from beauty boxes or advent calendars. This time, it was a Lookfantastic beauty box. But, even if I can’t get to use them for a long time, I do love that I get to enjoy them now and them as samples.
Packaging:
The full size scrub comes in a bright orange plastic tube that contains 70 ml. I have the travel size of this product and it contains only 20 ml, but the packaging is exactly the same.
Texture:
You know how some high end skin care products make a point of offering an “experience” when you use one of them? Well, this is one of those product. Not only does is smell nice, it also looks cool because it looks like a yellow gel with small orange particles in it. And yes, it also feels nice to rub the product on the skin.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Benzophenone-3, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Acacia Decurrens/Jojoba/Sunflower Seed Wax/Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Tapioca Starch, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Stearic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Fruit Water, Polyacrylamide, Xylitylglucoside, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Anhydroxylitol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Xanthan Gum, Lecithin, Xylitol, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Sulfite, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene, Laureth-7, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Dehydroacetic Acid, Linalool, Geraniol, Citral, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid.
The best ingredients in the scrub are 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid which is an antioxidant and the Sodium Hyaluronate, which is a great moisturizer. But, I also like the natural ingredients in this that make it a gentle scrub. There is shea butter, jojoba seed oil, orange fruit water and cocoa seed butter. Also, the mix of papaya enzymes and and perlite microspheres derived from volcanic extracts just adds to the entire luxurious aspect of the product.
Price and accessibility:
Rodial products are available in several online shops and, of course, through the brand’s own shop where I found it at the price of 42 euros. Would I pay as much for a small tube of face scrub? No, I wouldn’t. But I do like that it’s gentle and it feels luxurious and it does make the skin look smooth and glowy after I use it, so it is nice. If you have the money to spend it on high end skin care, by all means, I think that this face scrub would be worth it.
My overall opinion:
The face scrub can be used 2-3 a week because it is gentle enough as not to irritate the skin. It’s easy to use, you just have to apply it on damp skin, leave it on for a couple of minutes and then rinse it off with warm water using circular motions. It’s part of my pampering routine and I use it twice a week. If it weren’t so expensive or at least if there were a larger quantity of the product in the tube, I would consider purchasing it.
