BioBalance Super Pure Gel Cream Moisturizer Niacinamide 5% + Zinc 1% review

Going further with my reviews on the BioBalance skin care products, today it’s time for the face cream, or should I say the gel cream. I already know that my skin loves niacinamides, since I’ve been using other skin care products, so I wanted to try this one.

Packaging:

The face cream comes in a dark glass jar, which is simple yet effective. The jar contains 50 ml., like most face creams. Personally, I like tubes with pumps, but jars are second favorites, because It’s always hard to get the last of a product from plastic tubes. So, it’s a decent packaging.

Texture:

The cream is indeed a mixture between a gel and a cream, and I find that a little goes a long way. It’s not thick, but you don’t need much for an application. It does have a bit of a scent to it, but it doesn’t bother me.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Glycerin, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glyceryl Stearate, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Polyglyceryl-6 Palmitate/Succinate, Zinc PCA, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Propanediol, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Sorbitan Caprylate, Benzoic Acid

The key ingredient in this is niacinamide, which hydrates the skin, regulates sebum secretion, refines skin textures and enlarged pores and it helps to prevent blackheads. Also, zinc is another good ingredient to target acne. 83% of the ingredients are of natural origin.

Price and accessibility:

BioBalance products are available in DM stores, in certain pharmacies and in several online shop. I bought this gel cream online for about 11 euros. It’s not much for a good face cream, so I’m happy with the price.

My overall opinion:

This face cream can be used both in the morning and in the evening. For now, I’ve used it in the morning because I had some products for the evening that I wanted to finish off first. But, for the future, I think I will use it at night because it doesn’t have an SPF and it’s important if you use exfoliating serums like I do. For now, it’s ok since it’s winter and there’s minimum sunlight, but too bad it doesn’t have SPF, not even a low one.

I did noticed after two weeks that the skin texture has improved and I have very few blemishes and blackheads, so I think it does what it promises (I also used some mild exfoliating serums at night, so it’s probably a mixture of everything that improved my skin).

For my part, I think it’s a really good face cream for acne prone skin like mine, but you need to layer an SPF on top in the morning. If it had some SPF at well, it would have been great.
