Whenever I come across Christophe Robin products, I’m happy because I know I will like them. Unfortunately, this is a high end hair care brand, so I have to make the best out of the samples I get in my Lookfantastic beauty box. This time, it’s something right up my alley, a cleansing paste for thin hair that helps to give some volume to the hair’s texture.
Packaging:

The cleansing paste has the same packaging like the hair masks because it comes in a plastic jar. It’s also white and pink, so it’s already a match made in heaven because it’s my favorite color combination. The full size jar contains 250 ml, but I have only a sample size that contains 40 ml, but it’s still enough for about 4 uses.
Texture:
The paste looks just like a scrub, be it a body scrub, a face scrub or a scalp scrub. It looks like a coffee scrub and it has a beautiful rose scent. However, it does produce foam when you rub it in your hand in contact with water, so it can be used just like a regular shampoo. I must say, it looks pretty cool, because it’s the only hair product that I’ve seen do this so far.
Ingredients:
Moroccan Lava Clay, Sucrose, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Aqua/Water/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Cocamide Mea, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Hydrated Silica, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Fragrance (Parfum), Phenoxyethanol, Peg-2 Dimeadowfoamamidoethylmonium Methosulfate, Hexylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Adansonia Digitata Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Rosa Gallica Flower Extract, Carbomer, Citronellol, Geraniol, Benzyl Alcohol.
The key ingredients are the Moroccan Lava Clay (I love how these high end products contain all kind of outrageous ingredients), a blend of sugar cristals and French rose extract.
Price and accessibility:
Christophe Robin products are available at Sephora and in several online shops. This cleansing paste is sold on the brand’s website for 59 US dollars, and that is about the price that I’ve seen in online shops as well. I’m not gonna lie, I think it’s much for a hair cleansing paste, but a little does go a long way so maybe for splurging on some fancy hair care….
My overall opinion:
I’ve used the paste twice now and I think I have enough for two more uses. I think it does help with the hair texture and it creates volume and I did manage to gain an extra day in between hair washes (usually I was my hair every other day). I do like it very much, I love how my hair feels, the scent, everything.
Maybe I will purchase the full size product sometime, but I will use it only once a week or so because I do find that 60 dollars is a lot for a hair product. I mean, I could get a very decent perfume for that money or a pair of sneakers, or an entire skin care regime, which for me is more important than hair care products.
I’d say, if you have the money, try it because Christophe Robin products have never disappointed me. Otherwise, there are other cheaper options available on the market.
