Biobaza is a Croatian cosmetics brand that was established by Magdis, a firm founded by pharmacist Srećko Gross in 1993. The line consists of natural cosmetics of pharmaceutical quality, especially adapted for sensitive skin. I decided to try this face cleanser because it contains latic acid and it’s suitable for all skin types.
Packaging:
The face cleanser comes in a plastic bottle and it contains 200 ml. The bottle is blue, because Biobaza products have different colors depending on the range.
Texture:
This is a clear gel, with a thin texture that has a slight medicine-like scent. I can’t say that I’m a fan but at least it doesn’t contain perfume since it’s a product suitable for sensitive skin.
Ingredients:
AQUA, COCO-BETAINE, LAURYL GLUCOSIDE, LACTIC ACID, LYSINE HCL, POLYQUATERNIUM-10, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA FLOWER EXTRACT, ZINC OXIDE, PEG-10 OLIVE GLYCERIDES, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CETEARYL ISONONANOATE (AND) CETEARETH-20 (AND) CETEARYL ALCOHOL (AND) GLYCERYL STEARATE (AND) GLYCERIN (AND) CETEARETH-12 (AND) CETYL PALMITATE.
I chose this cleansing gel because of three ingredients: lactic acid, chamomile flower extract (I know it’s soothing for the skin) and zinc oxide since zinc has anti acne properties.
Price and accessibility:
Biobaza products are available in Romania at DM stores, in certain pharmacies and in several online shops (especially those that sell natural cosmetics). I got this cleansing gel from an online shop on sale. It was 50% off, since the normal price is around 8.5 euros. Honestly, I think it’s a bit much for what the product is.
My overall opinion:
Since this is a product created for all skin types, including sensitive skin, I was surprised to see that it does leave the skin feeling a little tight and dry. I know there are more gentler cleansing gels out there, so I know the skin can feel nice and hydrated even after cleansing. Also, it does have a very bitter taste, and I say this not because I drink cleansing gels, but because sometimes it gets on my lips when I wash my face and if I’m not careful, I can feel the bitterness on the tip of my thongue.
I don’t know if the bitter taste is on purpose, so that children don’t ingest it by accident, or it’s simply because of the ingredients, but it’s the first cleanser that actually bothers me in this way because I always have to be very careful when I use it.
otherwise, I didn’t notice any special effect on the skin, it’s a decent cleanser, but it’s not one that I like, so I won’t repurchase it again.
