A couple of years ago, I used the “sister” face-cream from this line and I remember that I liked it, but I wasn’t exactly thrilled. Elmiplant is a drugstore skin care brand that are affordable and decent, but they’re usually hit or miss. I got this gel-cream because it has a light texture, so I didn’t mind that it was meant for dry or sensitive skin.
Packaging:

The gel-cream comes in a glass jar and it contains 50 ml. I like glass jars, I think they’re classier than those plastic ones and I appreciate it when a product has a sturdy packaging. This range has pink design elements.
Texture:
Like I said, the gel-cream has a very light texture and it is scented because Elmiplant products are usually scented. I don’t mind it, but it’s good to know. It doesn’t feel sticky on the face like some gel-creams and it absorbs fast into the skin.
Ingredients:
AQUA, DIMETHICONE, GLYCERIN, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, SODIUM ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, PROPANEDIOL, CROCUS SATIVUS FLOWER EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED SOY PROTEIN, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ALLANTOIN, ALPHAGLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDE, ARGININE, ASCORBIC ACID, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, BISABOLOL, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CARAMEL, CHONDRUS CRISPUS EXTRACT, CITRIC ACID, DIETHYLHEXYL SYRINGYLIDENEMALONATE, DISODIUM EDTA, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, FRUCTOSE, GLUCOSE, GLYCERYL LAURATE, GLYCERYL OLEATE CITRATE, HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, LECITHIN, MALTOSE, PANTHENOL, PARFUM, PECTIN, PEG8, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, PROLINE, SERINE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, SODIUM LACTATE, SODIUM PCA, SODIUM POLYACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE, TOCOPHEROL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, TREHALOSE, UREA, XANTHAN GUM, PHENOXYETHANOL, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, ALPHAISOMETHYL IONONE, BENZYL BENZOATE, BENZYL SALICYLATE, HEXYL CINNAMAL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL.
87% of the ingredients are of natural origin. The key ingredients in this gel-cream are saffron extract, prebiotics and the Hydro Nutrient 24H advanced moisturizing complex.
Price and accessibility:
Elmiplant products are widely available in beauty stores, pharmacies, online shops and even in supermarkets. I got this gel-cream from a Penny supermarket for around 3 euros, which is as cheap as a face cream can get.
My overall opinion:
I think this is a decent face cream for someone who has young skin or doesn’t have any particular issues and is only interested in basic skin care. I also like to keep my skin care routine simple, but I have to say, I’ m just not impressed with this face cream and I wasn’t expecting much for the price. But now, at my age and with my skin care need, I honestly don’t know what I was thinking when I got it because it’s just not enough. My pores don’t look good, I look a little dry in the mouth and nose area and it’s clear that I need more from my face cream.
