Kallos is a hair care brand that I have fond memories of. When my mother first started to take me to a hairdresser (or at least when I started to have memories of getting my hair cut), there weren’t many hair care products available on the market. Just a few drugstore shampoos and conditioners and we didn’t even have a proper hair salon in our town. The hairdresser was a lady in her 30s who probably completed a basic course in hair styling and used the same drugstore products at the cabinet (because salon is really too much for the small room she used to receive her clients). But she also had some products from Kallos that were not widely available on the market and she used to buy them from a friend who did regular drives with his truck in Hungary. So, I don’t know much about Kallos except for the fact that it’s a Hungarian hair care brand that expanded into bath and body care, as well as makeup. The bath and body stuff and the makeup is really not that great, but the hair care products are still very nice. And they’re very cheap.
So, when I wanted to pick up a hair mask, I decided to choose this one from Kallos because it contains collagen and hyaluronic acid and I figured it must be good for fine hair. Well, in fact it’s made mainly for dry hair but it’s not one of those thick hair masks that make my hair oily.
Packaging:

Although they are very cheap, I think Kallos hair products are made for salons, so the size of the packaging is large. This hair mask comes in a big 500 ml plastic jar, but there is also a 1000 ml jar available.
Texture:
The hair mask is thick, but it’s thick like a conditioner, not like a hair mask. Also, it contains perfume and it has a strong scent, so if this is something you don’t like, it’s something you should consider. I like my hair to smell nice, so I don’t mind it.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride , Olea Europaea Oil, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Parfum, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Soluble Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, and Methylisothiazolinone
The key ingredients are keratin, collagen, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, coconut oil and olive oil.
Price and accessibility:
Kallos products are available in DM stores, in several online shops and even in some hair salons (the ones that don’t have those fancy products). I got my mask from my local DM stores for about 4 euros. Can you imagine? Just 4 euros for a large jar of hair mask that will last me at least for a year.
My overall opinion:
I use this hair mask once a week. I leave it on for about 10 minutes while I have a towel on my head and then I rinse it out well. I like how it makes my hair shiny and it’s not frizzy, but it doesn’t weight it down, so I don’t lose any of the volume. Personally, my current hair stylist and I think I have a healthy hair and maybe this hair mask is part of the reason. It’s a hair care product that I would highly recommend and I will also try shampoos and conditioners from Kallos, because I’m familiar only with their hair mask. After all, a Kallos hair mask was the first hair mask that I used and I bought it from the nice lady who was my hairdresser starting from my childhood all throughout high school.
