The last time I had a Klorane shampoo I really wasn’t too impressed with it, but I got a travel size in a Notino beauty box, so me being me, since I did have it, I decided to use it. After all, just because a product from a certain brand is a fail, it doesn’t mean that all products are.
Packaging:
The shampoo is available in 200 ml and 400 ml plastic bottles. Since what I have is a travel size, it’s just a 100 ml bottle. The design and the packaging is quite simple, mostly focusing on the plant extracts that each product contains.
Texture:
This Klorane shampoo has also a thin consistency, not like most shampoos. Because of the quinine it’s also brown-reddish and even the foam that it produces is reddish. However, I don’t think it has any influence on the hair color. I have dark brown hair, so I can’t be sure. There is also a light scent present, but probably just due to the natural extracts.
Ingredients:
WATER (AQUA)*. DISODIUM LAURETH SULFOSUCCINATE. PEG-120 METHYL GLUCOSE DIOLEATE. LAURYL BETAINE. LAURETH-3. MALEIC ACID. PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL. CINCHONA SUCCIRUBRA BARK EXTRACT*. LEONTOPODIUM ALPINUM FLOWER/LEAF EXTRACT*. CAFFEINE. BIOTIN. NIACINAMIDE. PANTHENOL. ALCOHOL*. BLUE 1 (CI 42090). CAPRYLYL GLYCOL. CITRIC ACID*. FRAGRANCE (PARFUM). GLYCERIN*. GREEN 3 (CI 42053). PANTOLACTONE. POLYQUATERNIUM-22. POTASSIUM SORBATE. PYRIDOXINE HCL. RED 33 (CI 17200). SODIUM BENZOATE. SODIUM CHLORIDE. TOCOPHEROL. YELLOW 6 (CI 15985)
The key ingredients are already mentioned in the name of the shampoo: quinine (it prevents hair loss), edelweiss extract and vitamin B. It also contains caffeine, biotin and niacinamide, which are all very nice ingredients for the hair.
Price and accessibility:
Klorane products are available in pharmacies and in several online shops. This shampoo is sold for about 8 euros (the 200 ml bottle), which is not a cheap, but it’s also not an expensive product. I would say it’s mid-range in terms of shampoos.
My overall opinion:
I liked this shampoo a lot more than the other that I previously tried from Klorane because it doesn’t dry out the hair so much and I think it does a good job at keeping it from becoming oily too fast. However, I don’t know what to say about strengthening the hair, because I didn’t have any particular issues in this area. However, I would say that it’s a nice silicone free shampoo that contains a lot of good ingredients for the hair and I would recommend it for those who want a more natural approach when it comes to hair care products.
