This week, I was minding my own business, doing some grocery shopping and what do I see at my local Lidl store? Rimmel mascaras and lip glosses. I have no idea why they had them because there was only one type of mascara and one type of lip gloss. Now, Rimmel mascaras I did not like, but when I saw this cute pink glitter lip gloss, I just had to have it!
Packaging:
It’s a drugstore lip gloss, nothing fancy here, so it’s just a clear plastic tube with a dove foot applicator. It contains 6.5 ml.
Texture:

Although it looks sticky, it does not feel sticky on the lips. It’s a very sheer lip gloss. I have the shade 160 Stay My Rose (because it was the only shade available) and it’s a very natural shade, with just a hint of rosy pink. I like it a lot because I can just throw it in my bag and use it whenever because I don’t have to worry it the color goes with the rest of my makeup or not.
Ingredients:
POLYBUTENE, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM/MINERAL OIL/HUILE MINERALE, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, LANOLIN OIL, ETHYLENE/PROPYLENE/STYRENE COPOLYMER, CALCIUM ALUMINUM BOROSILICATE, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, POLYETHYLENE, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, PHENOXYETHANOL, SILICA, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, BUTYLENE/ETHYLENE/STYRENE COPOLYMER, BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE, CALCIUM SODIUM BOROSILICATE, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, METHYLPARABEN, PARFUM/FRAGRANCE, PROPYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, LINALOOL, TIN OXIDE, BHT, HYDROXYCITRONELLAL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, [May Contain/Peut Contenir/+/-:MICA, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), D&C RED NO. 27 ALUMINUM LAKE (CI 45410), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499),FD&C YELLOW NO. 5 ALUMINUM LAKE (CI 19140), D&C RED NO. 7 CALICIUM LAKE (CI 15850), D&C RED NO. 6 BARIUM LAKE (CI 15850), D&C RED NO. 33 ALUMINUM LAKE (CI 17200), FD&C BLUE NO. 1 ALUMINUM LAKE (CI 42090), FD&C YELLOW NO. 6 ALUMINUM LAKE (CI 15985), CARMINE (CI 75470)]
The key ingredients are argan oil and vitamin E, which do their job at keeping the lips plump and soft. I can’t say that I’m a fan of the other ingredients on this list, but this isn’t one of the products from their vegan line, so I’ll just have to deal with it.
Price and accessibility:
Rimmel products are widely available in DM stores, in other beauty stores and in various online shops. Since I got my gloss from Lidl, I’ll just go with the price they sell it for: about 4 euros. It’s a decent price for a drugstore lip gloss.
My overall opinion:
I like how it feels on the lips and I also like the shade. I don’t mind that it’s a sheer lip gloss because it’s perfect for natural everyday makeup. However, this doesn’t last 6 hours on the lips, let’s be real. And even without drinking and/or eating something. It just fades away, at least on my lips. I don’t mind to reapply it and I think it’s a very nice lip gloss for that wet lips look and the glitter in it is very fine, nothing too chunky. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it because it’s not an amazing product, but it’s a decent lip gloss and one of the good products that I tried from Rimmel so far.
