Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls review

I remember a long time ago us old people would watch on YouTube makeup tutorials and everyone was using the famous Physicians Formula butter bronzer and then it was some kind of blush that was trendy and then I didn’t hear from this brand much to be honest. So now, I got this powder in a Notino beauty box and I was intrigued because I was able to finally try something from Physicians Formula.

Physicians Formula is an US beauty brand that has makeup products that are curelty free, hypoallergenic and free from harsh chemicals. Also, they claim all the products are approved by physicians so that they are safe. The brand was founded in 2003 in California by allergist dr. Frank Crandall.

Packaging:

The powder comes in a plastic case that contains 8 grams. The design is very simple, since it’s an affordable drugstore brand, but it does have a mirror and a little brush (which I don’t use to be honest).

Texture:

The powder does have an overspray which bother me because I don’t know why it’s a thing. The silvery powder on top is a bit much, I mean it looks too glittery even as just a highlighter. However, underneath is a pinky powder that still has a little bit of sparkle but it’s more subtle. That one I like, the overspray, not so much. I have the shade Translucent Pearl, but there are 3 other shades available. This is supposed to be for all over the face. I know it’s difficult to see in the picture, but without the flash there wouldn’t be much to see.

Ingredients:

MICA, ALUMINA, POLYETHYLENE, KAOLIN, MAGNESIUM STEARATE, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, NYLON-6, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, LAUROYL LYSINE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRAISOSTEARATE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, HYDROGENATED COCO-GLYCERIDES, CERA MICROCRISTALLINA, BIS-PEG-12 DIMETHICONE BEESWAX, SILICA, GLYCERIN, AQUA, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, POLYBUTENE, TIN OXIDE, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, O-CYMEN-5-OL, CALCIUM ALUMINUM BOROSILICATE, HYDROLYZED PEARL, MARIS SAL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE +/-: CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 75470

The key ingredients are real mineral pearl extract, shea oil, vitamin E and vitamin A.

Price and accessibility:

Physycians Formula products are widely available in online shops. Since I got mine from Notino, I checked their website and this powder is available for purchase at the price of about 11 euros. That’s not bad for a face powder because it will last a long time.

My overall opinion:

I have mixed feelings about this powder. Like I said, I don’t like the overspray, but the powder underneath does look nice and even if I don’t use it all over the face because I’m not a fan of shimmery face powders, I think it could be very nice as a discreet blush. I am interested in trying more things from Physicians Formula, but the products are rarely on sale and I wouldn’t want to dive head on into buying things since I’m not 100% sold on the brand just from a face powder alone. But, it does look interesting and I’m curious about that bronzer to see if it’s that good.
