Origins GinZing Glow – Boosting Mask review

I got this mini-sized face mask in one of the Notino beauty box and after I used it a couple of times, I decided to pack it into my travel skin care bag because I was already convinced that this is something that I want to look nice every morning while I’m on vacation.

Origins is a company that was founded in 1990 by Leonard Lauder, and if the name sound familiar, I will tell you why. Leonard Lauder is the son of Estee Lauder. The brand is known for their mix of natural ingredients and scientific research.

This face mask is part of a popular line, the GinZing line, which aims to provide a healthy glow to every skin type.

Packaging:

The full size mask comes in a jar and it contains 75 ml, but since I only have a mini size, it comes in a tube and it contains 15 ml. Both the jar and the tube are bright orange, the color used for the design of all the products in this line.

Texture:

This face mask feels more like a face cream really, and it has a light texture, more like a gel-cream combination. It’s not one of those masks that you wash off, but it’s supposed to be used over night. I like to use it in the evening and I apply it over my regular night cream.

Ingredients:

WATER\AQUA\EAU , CETEARYL ISONONANOATE , BUTYLENE GLYCOL , GLYCERIN , POLYGLYCERYL-3 METHYLGLUCOSE DISTEARATE , OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL , CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE , STEARETH-21 , 3-O-ETHYL ASCORBIC ACID , PANAX GINSENG ROOT EXTRACT , CAFFEINE , TERMINALIA FERDINANDIANA FRUIT EXTRACT , MAGNESIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE , SALICYLIC ACID , SODIUM HYALURONATE , BETAINE , SUCROSE , GLYCINE , MANNITOL , CETEARYL ALCOHOL , TRIETHYL CITRATE , XANTHAN GUM , SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE , SODIUM HYDROXIDE , MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE , LECITHIN , TIN OXIDE , HYDROXYPROPYL METHYLCELLULOSE , CAPRYLYL GLYCOL , ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER , STEARETH-2 , ACRYLATES/AMMONIUM METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER , SODIUM PHYTATE , PHENOXYETHANOL , CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPEFRUIT) PEEL OIL*, CITRUS LIMON (LEMON) PEEL OIL*, CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL OIL*, MENTHA VIRIDIS (SPEARMINT) LEAF OIL*, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, CITRAL , MICA , TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891) , IRON OXIDES (CI 77491) , IRON OXIDES (CI 77492) , YELLOW 5 (CI 19140) , YELLOW 6 (CI 15985) * ESSENTIAL OIL

The key ingredients are vitamin C, Panax ginseng and coffee beans, but there are also other good ingredients in here such as salicylic acid, olive oil and essential oils (orange peel, lemon peel and spearmint leaf oil). And no, I don’t think that essential oils are bad for the skin, if they are used in small quantities.

Price and accessibility:

Origins products are available in Romania at Sephora, in Dr. Max pharmacies and in several online shops. Since I got my mini size from Notino, I’ll go with their price which is about 27.5 euros, which is a little expensive for a face mask, but then again, if you don’t use it everyday it may last longer.

My overall opinion:

All I can say is that the claims I real. The skin does look glowy and I look well-rested in the morning when I use this face mask. I don’t know what it is, if it’s the coffee beans, the ginseng or everything together, but I definitely notice a difference. I still think that it’s an expensive face mask, but I would treat myself to it every now and then. Unfortunately, Origins products are not exactly high end, but they’re still more expensive than drugstore brands. But, if it weren’t for the price, I would recommend this face mask because it’s suitable for all skin types and for all ages.
