Yves Rocher Pure Detox Shampoo review

I know you’re probably thinking “Girl, another shampoo? Are you out of your mind?” No, I’m not. I’ve been using lots of minis lately, so of course I needed a new shampoo, especially since I like to have two in the bathroom so that I can alternate between them. So, when I placed my last order with Yves Rocher, I got this shampoo as a gift with purchase, so I figured I should start to use it.

Packaging:

The shampoo comes in a plastic bottle and it contains 300 ml. It has the usual Yves Rocher design and it’s part of the Pure Detox range, which is one that has products for the face as well as for the hair.

Texture:

This is a clear shampoo that looks more like a gel and it has a nice subtle scent.

Ingredients:

AQUA/WATER/EAU • SODIUM METHYL COCOYL TAURATE • COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE • SODIUM COCOYL ISETHIONATE • LAURYL GLUCOSIDE • PARFUM/FRAGRANCE • ASPARAGOPSIS ARMATA EXTRACT • SODIUM BENZOATE • GLYCERIN • CITRIC ACID • GUAR HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE • SODIUM CHLORIDE • COCO-GLUCOSIDE • GLYCERYL OLEATE • POTASSIUM SORBATE • LIMONENE • TOCOPHERYL ACETATE • HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE GLYCERIDES CITRATE • TOCOPHEROL |

The key ingredient in this is the bio algae extract that come from a sustainable source from the Ouessant Island in France. Other than that, The formula is quite basic.

Price and accessibility:

Yves Rocher products are available in the band’s store and in their online shops. The shampoo is sold for around 9 euros, so it’s not that affordable, but it’s also often available on sale. Or, in my case, it was a freebie.

My overall opinion:

Although this shampoo is supposed to be suitable for normal and oily hair, I do have to say that I’m not that happy about it. Yes, the hair feels silky and it looks shiny after I wash it, but it’s something more for people who like to wash their hair daily. It seems to be a gentle shampoo, but it’s not enough for me, because the second day after I wash my hair it already starts to look oily at the roots. I prefer to wash my hair every other day and this shampoo just doesn’t cut it for me.

So, I’m sorry to say but it’s not a shampoo that I could recommend for oily hair and I wouldn’t repurchase it. I will use it up just because it’s not that bad and it’s there, but I’m not excited about it.

I mean, I know I already said which shampoos I prefer so far, but now I’m on a tight budget again and I just have to be happy with drugstore shampoos that are affordable because professional products are not in the cards for me. At least for now.
