Bell HYPOAllergenic Lift Complex foundation review

This foundation was another cheap find while I was browsing the sales section in the DM online shop. Bell HYPOAllergenic is a Polish cosmetics brand that is focused on creating makeup products for people with sensitive skin. Now, my skin is not that sensitive, but I wanted to try something new and this was a cheap find so why not give it a shot?

Packaging:

The foundation comes in a white plastic bottle with a pump. The cap is not that great because I have to be careful not to lose it when I throw the bottle in my makeup drawer but it’s a cheap product, my expectations were low. The bottle contains 30 ml, just like any other foundation.

Texture:

Now, since there were only two shades available on sale I didn’t have many options, so I opted for the shade 02 Yellow Alabaster, and it’s a surprising good fit for me. I was under the impression that I have no yellow undertones my entire life but what do you know? The consistency is that of a thick cream and it does have high coverage, but it still blends nice into the skin and it looks natural. I just use a small amount starting with the center of my face and I add little dabs here and there if I have any acne scars on pimples.

Ingredients:

Aqua • Cyclopentasiloxane • Cyclohexasiloxane • PEG-10 Dimethicone • Triethylhexanoin • Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate • Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer • Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone • Disteardimonium Hectorite • Polyurethane-35 • Polysorbate 80 • Isoceteth-10 • Magnesium Aspartate • Copper Gluconate • Zinc Gluconate • Caprylyl Glycol • Methylpropanediol • Triethoxycaprylylsilane • Trimethoxycaprylylsilane • Ethylhexylglycerin • Propylene Carbonate • Phenylpropanol • Mica • Silica • Tin Oxide • Tocopherol • BHT • Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate • Phenoxyethanol • CI 77491 • CI 77492 • CI 77499 • CI 77891

For a makeup product for people with sensitive skin I was surprised that there isn’t any actual skin care ingredient in this formula. But at least it is vegan. However, I can’t say that I’m impressed with the list of ingredients since I don’t see any good stuff in here except for the zinc gluconate (anti-acne properties) and tocopherol (antioxidant). It has an SPF 15, which is useless and dear makeup brand from all over the world, please stop with this. An SPF of 10,15 or 20 us useless and we know it. Just leave the products be and we will use our own SPF ok?

Price and accessibility:

Bell HYPOAllergenic products are available in DM stores and in several online shops. Even at the full price which is around 10 euros at DM, it’s good for a foundation. I got it for 50% off, so it was an even better deal, especially since I don’t need to use much product for an application.

My overall opinion:

I have to admit that i was very skeptical about these products because I don’t have much luck with cheap Polish makeup products (I’m sorry to say that, it’s just a fact. Plus, it’s not like we do better here in Romania), but after using it for a week on daily basis I quite enjoy this foundation. It doesn’t crease, it doesn’t look too shiny or too matte and it doesn’t clog the pores. Also, it doesn’t oxidate, which is another big plus from my part.

I would say that if you have sensitive skin (or even if you don’t), Bell HYPOAllergenic is a brand that can offer a nice surprise for makeup lovers out there.
