Swiss O Par Coconut Hair Wax review

It’s been quite some time since I’ve tried a hair wax because I don’t usually use something like this on long hair, but since I read in the product presentation that it can be applied on the ends of the hair to add some shine and to prevent split hairs, I decided to try it. Also, it was on sale at DM, so that’s why I got it.

I don’t know much about Swiss O Par, other that it seems to be a German brand because of the packaging and they only have hair care and hair styling products.

Packaging:

The hair wax comes in a plastic jar with a metal lid and it contains 100 ml. Also, the packaging does seem to be very basic, but it’s and affordable brand, so I’m not surprised.

Texture:

To be honest it looks just like coconut oil. It has a solid consistency, but once it’s rubbed on the fingers it melts and then you can work it into the hair easily. it also has a delicious coconut scent and I have to say that it is a very natural scent.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Petrolatum, Candelilla Cera, Cetearel-25, Polyglycerol-3 Polyricinoleate, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Cera microcristalina hidrogenata, PVP, Simmondsia Chinensis seed oil*, Caprylyl Glicol, Helianthus Annuus Hybrid Oil *, PEG14M, Parfum, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil *, Benzoate de sodiu, Gliceril Caprylate, Glicerol, Silicol, Silen, Silen , Cumarina, alfa-izometil ionona

Besides the coconut oil, the hair wax also contains argan oil, jojoba oil and candelilla wax. It doesn’t contain bees wax, so it’s a vegan formula.

Price and accessibility:

Swiss O Par products are available in several beauty stores and in online shops. At DM, where I got the hair wax from, it’s sold for around 3.5 euros. It’s not much, especially since a jar of this hair was can last for a long time.

My overall opinion:

I can’t say that I’m a fan of this hair wax or of hair wax in general because I always have to be careful to use only just a little. If I put too much, the hair gets this wet look but it weighs it down because I have fine hair and I don’t have any more volume, which I always crave. Instead, I use only just a little on the tip of my fingers to add some shine to the ends of the hair and to add some definition to my layered hair cut.

I think this hair wax could work as a styling products and even as a hair care product for dry and/or damaged hair because of the vegetal oils that it contains and that can help to prevent hair damage and to add some moisture to dry ends.
