Eveline Cosmetics Super-dry Top Coat 5 in 1

Since I decided to start doing my nails again but I don’t want to have them done with semipermanent nail polish because it was damaging my nails on the long run, I decided to try this top coat that is supposed to help the nail polish to dry very fast for once, and to help the nail polish stay on the nails without chipping for up to 10 days.

Now, I know that Eveline Cosmetics products are on the affordable side, but I was very happy with the lash serum that i used from them some time ago (and that I repurchased now and it still make the lashes look wow!), so I thought I could give it a try.

Packaging:

The top coat comes in a regular nail polish bottle that contains 12 ml. It’s a clear top coat, but in the picture it looks like it has a little bit of red color because one of my nails was not fully dried when I applied it on top and some of the color transferred on the brush.

Texture:

It’s not too thick, so you can work with it to spread it evenly and it does have a bit of a smell to it, but it doesn’t bother me and it goes away fast.

Ingredients:

Ethyl Acetate, Alcohol Denat., Butyl Acetate, Cellulose Acetate Butyrate, Acrylates Copolymer, Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Sucrose Benzoate, Dimethicone, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil.

Of course, the ingredients are not like on the friendly side but since it ‘s not a product that is used directly on the skin, I don’t mind it. I appreciate that it contains sweet almond oil, because at least it’s one skin care ingredient.

Price and accessibility:

Eveline Cosmetics products are available in several beauty stores as well as in online shops. I got this top coat from Notino for about 2.5 euros because it was 40% off on a Black Friday say. Normally it costs around 4 euros. Even at full price , it’s very affordable.

My overall opinion:

I won’t because because the color transferred on the brush because it was my fault that I didn’t wait enough. I had a thicker nail polish coat on one nail and that’s when the problem occurred to it’s something that I could have prevented. After applying it, the nail polish did dry super-fast in about 1 minute and I could touch and do whatever without messing up my manicure.

What I’m not happy about it the claims that the manicure lasts longer. This is how my nails looked with fresh nail polish on:

I’m sorry for the messy application, but I didn’t clean my fingers because it was in the evening and when I do my nails in the evening I wait to see how they look after I wash my hands a couple of times and only them I do some clean up around the nails if it’s still necessary. I also used a hardening nail polish base from Nails Inc. and a nail polish also from Nails Inc., so not some cheapies from unknown brands.

And this is how my nails looked only 5 days later:

As you can see, two of the nails chipped on one hand and I had another one chipped on the other hand. I didn’t do anything special, no cleaning or scrubbing. I only did the dishes like a always no (light washing, nothing that involved scrubbing), but the biggest nail chip on the thumb happened when I got out of the shower. I used a scrub, like I do on weekly basis, but I used and exfoliating glove, so I really don’t know why the nail polish chipped.

So, no 10 days, only half the time, which is what the nail polish would probably have lasted even without this top coat. I’m disappointed because I hoped I could find something that could help me do my manicure only on weekly basis, but the nails looked so bad that I had to redo them after only 5 days.

Not all is bad, because I will still use this top coat to help the nail polish dry super-fast (like the name), which does happen and in this matter it does come in handy. Honestly, at the price, I think it’s a good top coat even if I’ll use it just to make the nail polish dry faster, but it would have been nice to prevent the chipping as well.
