Another mascara, another essence one because this is the best affordable brand when it comes to mascaras, in my humble opinion. I got this volume and curl mascara in the Emily in Paris limited edition, but the product is the same as the one from their normal range, only the packaging is a little different.
Packaging:

The mascara comes in a plastic tube that contains 10 ml. Honestly, I got it when it was available as a limited edition because I liked the cute design with the Eiffel Tower and the pink hearts. Yes, I’m a sucker for pink hearts. The wand is a little bit curvy and I like to use it on both sides because I always apply two coats of mascara and I find that it’s easy to reach the fine lashes in the inner and outer corner of the eyes.
Texture:
In general, essence mascaras don’t have a tacky texture, they’re usually light and have a thin formula and I like it this way because it helps to define the lashes one by one and to add volume without making them look clumpy.
Ingredients:
AQUA (WATER), PARAFFIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE, SYNTHETIC BEESWAX, STEARIC ACID, ACACIA SENEGAL GUM, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, PALMITIC ACID, POLYBUTENE, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) BRAN WAX, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, OZOKERITE, AMINOMETHYL PROPANOL, TROPOLONE, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL, STEARYL STEARATE, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, DISODIUM PHOSPHATE, POLYSORBATE 60, SODIUM PHOSPHATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES).
I love that this is not only a cruelty free formula but also a vegan one. It contains synthetic beeswax instead of natural one as well as rice bran wax. It doesn’t hav any fragrance.
Price and accessibility:
essence products are available in several online shops and in DM stores. This mascara I got from DM if I remember correctly for about 3 euros, which is a bargain. At the price and considering the quality of the mascara, you can’t ask for more.
My overall opinion:
If you’ve come so far with my review, you already know that I recommend this mascara. It doesn’t help much with the curling thing, I still have to use a tool for that, but it does help with adding volume to the lashes. Also, it doesn’t smudge (although it’s not waterproof) and, in other words, I would highly recommend it.
The range of the essence products is constantly changing and asides from their Lash Princess products probably all of their other mascaras come and go out of range under different names. However, my tip is that most mascaras that they have are good, so it’s only up to you which one you choose.
