Revolution Beauty Pout Bomb Lip Gloss review

I didn’t have any lips products from Revolution Beauty asides from a lipstick that had a muddy brown shade that I didn’t like, so now I have the opportunity to see how their lip glosses are. Let’s start with probably one of their more popular lip glosses, which is Pout Bomb. If I’m not mistaken, this is supposed to be a dupe for the Fenty Beauty lip glosses, but I can’t say if it’s true or not because I haven’t used any from that brand.

Packaging:

I have only a mini size with a quantity of 1.4 ml, but the packaging is the same for the full size product which contains 4.6 ml. It comes in a clear plastic tube with a dove foot applicator. I must say I don’t mind the packaging as much because it’s easier to see which shade it is in the tube.

Texture:

This lip gloss has a sticky consistency and I’m not a fan of it because I don’t like to see my hair getting stuck to my lips if it accidentally comes in contact with my lips. It’s a plumping lip gloss but it’s not minty nor has it that tingly feeling. I suppose it’s called plumping because of the shimmer particles that add the optic illusion of volume to the lips. I have the shade Shimmer, so it’s clear and it doesn’t have any color.

Ingredients:

The shade Shimmer is made just for the advent calendar as far as I can tell because I couldn’t find it withing the Pout Bomb range. There is also a Shimmer Pout lip gloss range, but no shade with this name, so I must assume that it’s not sold separately. However, I supposed the ingredients list is similar to the Glaze shade because that is also a clear lip gloss.

POLYBUTENE, TRIDECYL TRIMELLITATE, C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE, OCTYLDODECANOL, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, MENTHOXYPROPANEDIOL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, AROMA (FLAVOR), LIMONENE, LINALOOL.

Again, no special ingredients in this, but on the packaging it does say that it’s infused with Vitamin E.

Price and accessibility:

Revolution Beauty products are widely available and the prices also differ. On the Revolution Beauty UK website the full size of this lip gloss is sold for 5.99 euros. It’s not a bad price, but it’s also not an outstanding product, so I think there are cheaper options available that perform just the same.

My overall opinion:

Asides from the shimmer particles, I can’t say that I see any other lip plumping effects, so I don’t think that this lips gloss is any more special than other regular lip glosses. Also, I’m not a fan of sticky lip glosses, especially since I know that it is possible to make some that feel more like an oil on the lips or like a shiny cream lipstick. This is an old school formula and it shows.

In other words, it didn’t spark my interest to try other shades from the range and I can’t say that I would necessarily recommend this lip gloss. It’s not a bad product, but some improvements could be made.
