Revolution Beauty Blush Bomb review

I can’t say that I’m a big fan of liquid blushes because they’re a little too bold for me, so imagine the face I made when I saw this little tube in my advent calendar. I still gave it a try though because I’m all for the saying “don’t knock it ’till you try it.”

Packaging:

This is not only a mini size, but it also seems to be a product that was especially made for the advent calendar. The full size blush comes in a plastic tube that contains 4.6 ml and it has a cute pink cap. The mini size contains only 1.4 ml and the cap is white. I don’t get why it wasn’t pink since pink is all the theme of this year’s advent calendar, but here we are.

Texture:

Since it is a liquid blush, it has a cream texture and it’s very thick. You really don’t need much to have rosy cheeks. There are 5 shades available, but the shade that we got in the advent calendar, Cute Pink, is not available as a full size. This is a dark pink shade, something more similar to a berry shade.

Ingredients:

ISONONYL ISONONANOATE, ISODODECANE, POLYBUTENE, HYDROGENATED STYRENE/ISOPRENE COPOLYMER, SILICA SILYLATE, POLYETHYLENE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PUNICA GRANATUM (POMEGRANATE) SEED OIL, ROSA RUBIGINOSA SEED OIL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS (SAFFLOWER) SEED OIL, CITRULLUS VULGARIS (WATERMELON) FRUIT EXTRACT, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE. [+/- MAY CONTAIN (PEUT CONTENIR): CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 15850 (RED 7 LAKE), CI 15850 (RED 6 LAKE), CI 15985 (YELLOW 6 LAKE)].

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the blush is enriched with vitamin E and that there are some natural oils in the formula.

Price and accessibility:

These Blush Bombs are also available in plenty of online shops, so there isn’t any problem to get them. In the Revolution Beauty online shop they are sold for 6.99 euros. I think it’s a bit much for a drugstore liquid blush, but they always have sells, as well as the other online shops where the Revolution Beauty products are sold.

My overall opinion:

I think I’m not the best person to review a liquid blush because I don’t like them. I like my makeup products to be subtle, so that I can build them up as much as I like. That’s why I prefer powder blushes. This one is a quite bold color and even if I used only one dot on each cheek, it still looked very bright. My mother asked me if I was feverish because I was so red. And I’m not even kidding.

So, for me, it’s a no, just because I don’t know how little I should use or how much more I could blend this blush so it doesn’t look bad. But, if you like bold makeup and you don’t mind people seeing from far away that you’ve used a blush, then it’s something that you should try. Also, the price point is a little bit high for this one and I think for Revolution Beauty products in general, if we go with the full price. If they’re on sale it’s cool, but they’re not that good or innovative to be priced more than other drugstore products that perform the same and have maybe cuter packaging. I’m just saying.
