This was somehow an unexpected purchase during Black Friday, but it was 30% off in a beauty outlet, so I had to get it. I had a sample of a Burberry perfume in the past and I wanted to try a full size perfume once because I liked the elegant and classic vibe of the brand.

Packaging:

The bottle is quite simple, just a clear glass bottle with a white pattern on both sides and without any writing on it. It’s simple really. What I don’t like is the plastic cap that already wiggles a little. I would expect something more from a luxury brand, even if this perfume is not as expensive as others. I have the large bottle that contains 100 ml.

Top notes: pear, lime, almond

Middle notes: sugar, peony, candied almond

Base notes: vanilla, tonka beans, mahogany, amber

The perfume was launched in 2003 and it was created by Natalie Gracia-Cetto. It’s mostly floral, but with some sweet notes mixed in it.

Price and accessibility:

Burberry perfumes are widely available in all kinds of online shops. I ordered mine from a duty free shop from an airport in Bucharest, so it was already at a discounted price but additionally I got it for 30% off. The regular price for this perfume is about 52 euros, so it’s not crazy expensive, but, for me, it’s still a splurge to buy something so expensive. Considering the brand, it’s still a good price.

My overall opinion:

I got it because it’s supposed to be a perfume perfect for winter because of the almond and the sugary notes in it, but I don’t think about classifying perfumes according to seasons or if they’re for day and night. I wear them depending on my mood and that’s why I love them. I hope to increasing my perfume collection this year, it’s one of my goals. But probably just a few of them will be as expensive, I’ll probably get them on special occasions.

For me, it’s one of those elegant perfumes, that is maybe not as unique or as “in your face” like others, but it has a very good longevity, even if it’s just an EDT and not an EDP and I already received a few compliments on it. They were basic compliments in the lines of “that perfume you’re wearing smells nice, what is it?” but I thought it was nice because in other occasions my perfume was either unnoticed or no one says anything about it. Therefore, I do like it very much and I plan to have this as my “special occasion perfume” for now.
