This little guy was a gift that I got from a friend of mine on Christmas and I thank her a lot, because I love perfumes of any kind and this was a very nice addition to my collection.

Sel d’Azur was created by Marie Salamagne in 2019 as a fresh, citrusy scent. It’s part of the Pleines Natures collection. I know even by the name it seems like something suitable for the summer, but as I said again and again, I don’t like to wear fragrances just according to the season or the time of the day. I just like perfumes and that’s all.

Packaging:

The packaging is very simple, a clear glass bottle with golden writing on it and a nice, blue outer packaging. There are two sizes available for this perfume, a 100 ml bottle and a 30 ml bottle. I have the smaller size and that’s why I’m already almost half way through the bottle. The cap is made of white plastic. I miss those old perfume bottles that were made entirely out of glass, even the cap.

Top note: grapefruit

Middle note: Virginian cedar

Base note: Haitian vetiver

Price and accessibility:

Yves Rocher products are available through the brand’s online shop, through their consultants, but also in several online shops and in Dr. Max pharmacies. The 30 ml bottle is sold for around 46 euros, but they often have sales up to 50% off. To be honest, this is a price that I would expect for high end perfumes (considering the quantity), so I think it’s a bit on the expensive side and I don’t know what’s wrong with Yves Rocher and their prices lately because they are going more and more up. At least in Romania.

My overall opinion:

Usually, I like most Yves Rocher fragrances. I don’t think they have the “wow” factor, but they manage to be unique in their own way. I mean, my mother uses the same perfume from this brand for years now and I can recognize it whenever and wherever.

That being said, the longevity is not always the best and considering the high price, I would expect something more from these perfumes. Therefore, I would never get them at their whole price. I would definitely wait when there’s a consistent sale (or even a gift with purchase, because they even give perfumes as gifts with purchases) because at that price, there are better alternatives on the market.

In other words, yes, this perfumes is also very nice and it’s worth it for those who like, fresh, citrusy fragrances. I would say it even works as an unisex fragrance. But, be wise about purchasing it and wait until there is a sale.
