Don’t you hate it when products have such long names? I do! Call it smoothing face cream or something, I don’t need the entire formula written on the tube. Anyways, I got this face cream because I liked the niacinamide night cream so much, I decided to get a day cream from Balea as well. So let’s see how that went, shall we?

Packaging:

The face cream comes in a white plastic tube with a pink design. This Beauty Expert range has all kinds of skin care products in it and as far as I can tell, the products with pink are created for smooth skin. The tube contains 50 ml, like most face creams.

Texture:

This face cream also has no scent, which I appreciate about Balea products, because they don’t use any unnecessary fragrances. I don’t mind fragrance, but I know fr some people it’s important. The cream has a light texture, very similar to that of a lotion and you don’t need much product for an application.

Ingredients:

AQUA, COCO-CAPRYLATE/CAPRATE, GLYCERIN, CAPRYLIC/CAPRICE TRIGLYCERIDES, OCTYLDODECANOL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, PANTHENOL, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE, ECTOINE, SQUALANE, SCLEROTHIUM GUM, SORBITAN LAURAT, ACETYL DIPEPTIDE-1 CETYL ESTER, ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8, PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-38, HYDROXYETHYL CELLULOSE, SODIUM STEAROIL GLUTAMAT, HYDROXYPROPYL CYCLODEXTRIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CITRIC ACID, CAPRYTHYL GLYCOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, PHENOXYLENE.

I suppose it’s not necessary to point out the key ingredients in this cream which are peptides and ectoin, as well as squalene and panthenol. Peptides are supposed to even out the skin tone, reduce inflammation and the appearance of wrinkles. Ectoin protects the skin from environmental factors such as UVA rays and pollution. Squalene and panthenol are great ingredients for skin hydration.

Price and accessibility:

Like all Balea products, this face cream is also exclusively available in DM stores at the price of about 3.5 euros, which is as cheap as it can get for a face cream. Balea products are generally very cheap, I don’t know how they make them but they are great in terms of price / quality ratio.

My overall opinion:

This face cream does what it promises in terms of makin the skin feel very smooth, but I noticed that it doesn’t pair well with other products. Regardless if it’s just a skin tint or a foundation, it makes the products you put on top it crumble. Because of that, I will continue to use it in the evening once I finish the niacinamide face cream and I will probably not repurchase it.

For me, it’s important to be able to use some kind of makeup on top of this face cream, even it’s just something light, for a natural look. And if it doesn’t look good, I can’t say that I think this face cream is something that I would recommend or that I will continue to use.
