Catrice Curl It Volume & Curl Mascara review

It was yet again time to get a new mascara because if it’s something that I go through fast that’s mascaras. I wear mascara each and every single day and I apply multiple years. It’s the one makeup item that helps me feel put together. This time, I chose one from the sister-brand of essence, Catrice. I consider that the products from these two brands are very similar.

Packaging:

The mascara comes in a bright pink plastic tube and it contains 11 ml. I chose the this mascara partially because of the pink color since I love everything pink, but also because it’s a curling mascara. The wand is a little curved so it’s good to use for the inner and outer corners of the eye.

Texture:

This is not a thick mascara, so it’s not clumping the lashes and it’s easy to define them. It’s the formula that I like the most because it’s not too thick and it’s also not too thin to make it become runny.

Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), HYDROGENATED OLIVE OIL, MYRICA PUBESCENS FRUIT CERA (MYRICA PUBESCENS FRUIT WAX), SYNTHETIC BEESWAX, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA (COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) WAX), GLYCERIN, STEARIC ACID, SHOREA ROBUSTA RESIN, PALMITIC ACID, POLYURETHANE-34, RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, GLYCERYL STEARATE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) OIL UNSAPONIFIABLES, COCOYL HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, TOCOPHEROL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, XANTHAN GUM, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, METHYLPROPANEDIOL, PHENYLPROPANOL, AMINOMETHYL PROPANOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES).

I like the fact that it also contains some nourishing ingredients like olive oil and castor oil. Also, it doesn’t contain any bees wax and believe there is no difference, so it’s great to have a completely vegan alternative to classic mascaras.

Price and accessibility:

Catrice products are available in DM stores but also in several online shops. I got mine from DM at the price of about 5 euros, which is a little more than essence mascaras, but it’s still a very affordable price. Honestly, I don’t see any reason to buy expensive mascaras because these affordable ones are just as good.

My overall opinion:

I have this mascara in the shade 010 Deep Black, because I have black lashes and colorful mascaras don’t show up on my lashes anyway. I would have chosen a black shade regardless because since I use mascaras everyday, I don’t like to experiment with them and I need a classic one.

It does what it says, it makes the lashes look curlier, it doesn’t smudge and it doesn’t irritate the eyes, it adds volume and definition to the lashes. Basically, it does everything that I would expect from a good mascara. I also love the formula because it’s just right for me.

In other words, I would recommend this mascara from Catrice because you don’t have anything to lose if you try it.
