Since I decided that I like to use a peeling gel once or twice a week, I make sure that I always have one in my skin care routine. Therefore, I picked this peeling gel because, like I said, I want to try Korean skin care products and I also like gentle peeling gels instead of exfoliating gels.
Packaging:
The peeling gel comes in a plastic tube that contains 180 ml, so it’s a rather generous amount. The tube is green, which is very fitting considering that the main ingredients in this, even in the name, is tea tree.
Texture:
The peeling gel looks like a green cream, with very fine particles. It melts into the skin and it does have a little bit of a scent, but not like a perfume, more like a medicinal scent.
Ingredients:
Water, Cellulose, Alcohol, Glycerin, Hydroxyacetophenone, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methyl Gluceth-20, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract(125ppm), Allantoin, Betaine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract(10ppm), Maltodextrin, 1,2-Hexanediol.
The key ingredients in this peeling gel are aloe vera leaf extract, tea tree leaf extract, as well as some hydrating ingredients such as glycerin an allantoin. I don’t mind the alcohol, because I don’t feel like it dries the skin up.
Price and accessibility:
Orjena products are available in Douglas store, in Dr. Max pharmacies and in several online shops. I got mine from the Dr. Max pharmacy which is now my go-to place for Korean skin care products because it’s easier accessible. It was about 8 euros, which is really not much because it’s a large tube and I don’t use a peeling gel daily, only once or twice a week.
My overall opinion:
I don’t think there’s much to say about a peeling gel. All I can say is that I like it, because it leaves the skin smooth and it doesn’t make it feel dry, like some peeling or exfoliating products tend to do. It really is gentle, so I think it could also work for dry or sensitive skin, as long as you don’t have a problem with some of the ingredients, of course. I don’t exactly if I’ll repurchase it, because I tend to get whatever is on sale or depending on the price, but I would definitely not mind keep using it and I wouldn’t avoid it in the future.
