L’Oreal Elseve Hyaluron Pure Shampoo review

Since I like to use a clarifying shampoo every other day and a purple shampoo once a week, I decided to try something from L’Oreal as well. The hair color and the purple shampoo are from the same brand so I figured I should try something from their product line because this shampoo is rather new on the market and it’s for oily scalp and dry ends, which is exactly my main hair concearn.

Packaging:

The shampoo comes in a clear plastic bottle and it contains 250 ml. It does have a blue color scheme to the packaging as it’s the color they used for this clarifying line.

Texture:

The shampoo is clear and thick and it does have a scent because L’Oreal products are rather scented. But it does smell nice and I like that you don’t need much product. Especially since I don’t have very long hair and it’s also not thick.

Ingredients:

AQUA / WATER • SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE • COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE • PARFUM / FRAGRANCE • COCAMIDE MEA • SODIUM CHLORIDE • SODIUM BENZOATE • SODIUM HYDROXIDE • HYDROXYPROPYL GUAR HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE • SODIUM HYALURONATE • SALICYLIC ACID • LIMONENE • CITRIC ACID • HEXYLENE GLYCOL. (F.I.L Z70031512/1).

The key ingredients in this shampoo are salicylic acid, a gentle exfoliant that balances the scalp’s sebum and hyaluronic acid, which hydrates the hair without weighing it down.

Price and accessibility:

L’Oreal products are widely available in beauty stores, online shops, pharmacies and even in supermarkets (although in supermarkets only some of the basic products are available). I got my shampoo from the Dr. Max pharmacy for about 3.5 euros, which I think is a good price for a drugstore shampoo and it’s worth it.

My overall opinion:

Although I did like my Pantene clarifying shampoo, I do feel that this one is better because it adds volume to the hair and it does add some texture because it makes the hair look fuller and that’s what I need with my fine hair. I still can’t get away with washing my hair less often than every other day and sometimes I put some dry shampoo on in the second day, especially if I’m at work, because it doesn’t help with the roots becoming oily. I don’t know, I think I just can’t find a shampoo that can last me two full says without getting oily. But, at least it does a great job with hydrating the hair ends without weighing it down. So, if I consider the advantages and disadvantages, I would recommend this shampoo for oily hair, especially if it’s also fine.
