DM (Drogerie Markt) stores had a lot of promotional sales around the Easter, meaning they had tons of coupons in their mobile app, so I got myself a new foundation because it was 35% off (or 30% off I can’t remember). The coupon was just for this specific foundation from Rimmel so I decided to give it a try.
Rimmel products are usually hit and miss for me because I was not impressed with the mascaras and a lip gloss that I tried from them but the nail polish is the bomb and I’ve been using it for months now (it lasts up to 7 days on the nails without chipping which is great for me). Also, their face powder was very good and cheap so why not try a foundation?
Packaging:

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump and it contains 30 ml. I love foundations with pumps, I mean it’s 2025, why still make tubes and bottles without pumps because it’s not hygienic to use them. The design is rather simple, a bright red lid and some red and writing on the bottle, but it’s a drugstore product, it’s not like I have many expectations. The pump works and the bottle feels heavy, opposed to the cheap plastic ones, so I’m happy.
Texture:

I got the shade 200 Soft Beige and it’s for medium skin with neutral undertone. I know I don’t have medium skin, but since summer is around the corner, I know I will be needing a darker foundation than the porcelain white that I use during winter. For now, I just mix it with a little bit of my lighter foundation and it works just fine. When it’s blended out, it doesn’t look as dark. It’s a thick foundation, so it has medium to high coverage I would say, but it doesn’t crease and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Also, you don’t need much really and it does look quite natural.

Well, the ingredients list looks like you would expect it with lots of pigments and stuff, but I do appreciate the niacinamide and the rose flower extract in the formula.
Price and accessibility:
Rimmel products are widely available in beauty stores, online shops and in certain pharmacies. I got m the foundation from DM like I said for about 8 euros and that was with the coupon, but joke’s on me because I found it for cheaper online even without being on sale. That’s one of the things I don’t like about DM. When it’s not their own brands or German brands they tend to have higher prices for other cosmetic brands. Even so, I think 8 euros is definitely worth it for a good foundation.
My overall opinion:
So, my overall opinion is that I like the foundation and I would repurchase it and I will tell you why by going through the claims of this products.
It’s supposed to be full-coverage and I can confirm that because it did a very good job at covering my acne scars in the chin area (I had some bad break outs over the last weeks).
It’s supposed to last up to 35 hours, even ”sleep-proof”. I don’t know about that claim because I wouldn’t dream of sleeping with foundation on and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. But, I did have the foundation on from 9 in the morning until 9 in the evening and I can confirm that it doesn’t crease and it’s transfer resistant. Also, I don’t exactly know if it’s waterproof but it didn’t transfer when I was sweating a little bit because I had an event today that I had to attend and I spent a couple of hours in the sun. The makeup was still intact.
It’s infused with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E and it contains 2% niacinamide. It also has SPF 20 which is low, but it’s still something. To be fair, the skin still looked radiant even if I do see it as a mattifying foundation. It looks just natural, that’s how I would call it. No texture enhancing, no visible pores. It was just great overall.
I think I really sold you on this foundation but I do have to say that’s in one of the best drugstore foundations that I tried lately and props up to Rimmel for this because it’s actually a very good product. Also, the shade range is ok, it’s not their fault that they had few options at DM. There are 34 shades in total and I like that they explain on their website which shade goes best for which skin tone. So, I’d say give it a go because you don’t have much to lose even if it doesn’t work out.
