It’s been three years since the last time that I used products from the Gerovital Must Have line because it was something new from Farmec. Now, this is a brand that I come back to time and time again because it’s an established Romanian brand and the products are mostly affordable (they do have a luxury line as well). And you know what, they’re as good as notable drugstore brands from Europe but at half the price, so why wouldn’t I choose them?
Packaging:
The serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper and it contains 30 ml. The bottle is dark, so it’s perfect to preserve the serum.
Texture:

This is a thick, white, unscented serum that does feel a little bit sticky on the skin, but I don’t mind it because I apply a face cream afterwards and I don’t feel the stickiness anymore.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Panthenol, Pentylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Octyldodecanol, Ribes Nigrum Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil Unsaponifiables, Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Glyceryl Laurate, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Disodium EDTA.
The key ingredients are provitamin B5 10% and Defensil Plus 2%. These ingredients are good for hydration, protection and they also have anti-aging effects. There is also blackcurrant seed oil, sunflower seed oil, balloon vine flower and leaf extract and rosemary leaf extract in there, so these are natural ingredients that are good as antioxidants and also have antibacterial properties.
Price and accessibility:
Farmec products are available in some pharmacies and beauty shops, as well as on the brand’s online shop where I got it from at the price of about 6.5 euros, which is pretty good for a skin serum since these tend to be a bit more expensive.
My overall opinion:
This was the last serum from the line that I haven’t used so that’s why I wanted to try it. Also, it was on sale for about 4.5 euros, so it was worth it. I use it only in the evening because I don’t have time in the morning for a long skin care ritual. I use only a face cream and an SPF but in the evening I take my time to use exfoliants, serums and face masks, depending on my skin’s needs and on my mood.
At first, I didn’t notice anything special, but after a couple of weeks, I noticed that it has a nice effect on calming blemishes and it helps to add some hydration to the skin, especially now that the summer heat takes its toll on the skin and I want to help restore the skin during the night.
I like it, I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily a must have, but I would repurchase it again if it’s on sale.
