I know what you’re thinkin, you’re probably wondering what the heck am I doing with a deep repair hair mask when I have oily hair? Well, the thing is that I color my hair and I use purple shampoo once a week but I avoided hair masks because I was afraid that my hair would get even oilier. Now I know it’s not the case because I notice that while the roots do become oily fast, the hair ends are quite dry and they look unhealthy. So, when I had a coupon for 25% off on Pantene Pro-V hair masks at the DM store (love their loyalty program, by the way), I decided to get one just to try it out. And, of course, I’m off the ”natural hair products” train because my hair simply looks better when I use good drugstore products, I don’t need fancy-shmansy things.
Packaging:

The hair mask comes in a golden plastic jar with a lid that contains 300 ml. I do have to note that all the masks have the same packaging, just the flower on the packaging is different, so you really need to get in there and read to see which one is which. I think they should use different colors for different lines.
Texture:
The mask has a very interesting texture. It has those little beads in it that melt when you apply it. It feels so nourishing and it has a nice smell, I tell you, it’s a pleasure to use. I feel like I’m getting a salon treatment at home. It looks barely touched but I already used it 4 times and that’s because you don’t need much product, especially when you don’t have long hair. Mine’s just shoulder lenght.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Stearyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Glutamic Acid, Parfum, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate 20, Linalool, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Hexyl Cinnamal, Isopropyl Alcohol, Histidine, Hydroxycitronellal, CI 77492, Benzyl Benzoate, Biotin, Methicone
Definitely keratin and biotin are the main ingredients in this formula, but I appreciate the effect it has on the hair.
Price and accessibility:
Pantene Pro-V is a drugstore hair care brand so it’s available all over the place: beauty stores, online shops and even supermarkets. Since I got mine from DM, I’m going with their pricing which is around 8 euros. Honestly, it’s a very affordable price for a hair mask because you don’t need much product and you use it only once a week (or twice if you have really dry hair), so it’s definitely worth it.
My overall opinion:
The claim on the packaging is that you can see the results after only one use. What can I say, they are right. I use this hair mask once a week, usually the same day when I’m also use purple shampoo because that one tends to make the hair drier. I apply it on the hair length starting from the middle towards the ends of the hair (after I wash it, of course) and then I use a put my hair in a loose bun and let the mask do its job for about 5 minutes. When I’m done, I rinse it off and I style my hair as usual (I let it air-dry, I use a blow drier, sometimes I use some styling mousse or sometimes just a finishing spray).
The hair mask does what it says, the hair looks shiny and beautiful, it’s smooth and bouncy and no, it doesn’t get oily. I still have to wash it every other hair because the roots become oily and the hair looks flat and now, during the summer, I’m sweaty and gross, but the hair length looks great.
I would recommend this hair mask and I think Pantene Pro-V still is one of the best drugstore hair care brands out there. I used to love them when I was in high school and nothing has changed. Well, it has, but for the better, because they improved their products.
