Of course that I use lip balms and other store-bought products for chapped lips just like everybody else because of their convenience but I also think that natural remedies are great for evening treatments or for those day when I’m hanging around the house more and I have time to apply them.
I’m happy with the shape of my lips and with how full they are but I do envy a little bit people who use enhancements because they have that appearance of soft lips all the time. But, that doesn’t mean that we can’t achieve the same with our natural lips, just as long as we take good care of them.
Bees wax

Bees wax is one of the most commons ingredients in lip balms because it foes a great job at creating a sealing coat on the skin against environmental factors such as sun, dry air and so on. Of course, you can’t use bees wax as it is, you do have to melt it and to let it cool in some sort of tubes or jars or whatever works best for you. Or, in just some old lip balm container. That works if you want a cheap alternative to classic lip balms because it’s cheap to get bees wax in bulk and it can last you for a really long time.
Cocoa butter

Cocoa butter is another natural products that is easy to obtain nowadays. I bought mine from an online store that is specialized in selling all kinds of ingredients for those who want to create their own natural cosmetic products at home. Cocoa butter has excellent healing properties for chapped lips. It contains antioxidants (especially vitamin E) that help to soften and protect the skin and that offer a deep hydration.
Olive oil

I know what you’re thinking but olive oil is not just for salads. It also contains vitamin E and fatty Omega 3 acids. Also, it works great as a lip scrub when it’s mixed with some sugar because it gently exfoliates the skin while nourishing it at the same time. Plus, it’s easy to apply as you can just dab your finger in some olive oil and spread it on the lips.
Bonus tips:
Chapped lips can also be prevented if you take care of your health in general. If you have chapped lips constantly, it may be because you don’t drink enough water, so make sure that you hydrate yourself. Don’t forget to use an SPF lip balm when you go out because the sun can damage the skin on the lips just as much as the skin on your body.
Chapped lips can also be a sign of vitamin B deficiency so you might want to supplement your diet with foods rich in vitamin B such as fish, wholegrain cereals, green vegetables. Or take some dietary supplements with vitamin B.
Of course, keep in mind that I’m not a doctor or a dermatologists or any professional of some way. This is me speaking from my personal experience, I’m not here to tell you that everything I say is an universal truth.
