Recently, Vichy had one of their sample testing campaigns and I applied to receive a sample kit as well. Luckily, I got it (thank you, Vichy!) and I want to tell a little bit about the products included in the kit. No, this is no paid article, I had no obligation to promote the products, nor did I receive any kind of compensation.
Vichy Liftactiv Collagen Specialist 16 Bonding Serum
I liked that it’s not one of those sticky serums. It feels a little thicker, but it absorbs so nice into the skin. It contains collagen and peptides, and some interesting ingredients as well: Rhamnose (5%), a natural sugar of plant origin that stimulates collagen production and protects the cell matrix; Matrixyl (3%), a mix of peptides that stimulate collagen production; Maitake (0.5%), an extract from a mushroom that protects cells against stress and stimulates protein synthesis; Vitamin Cg, a powerful antioxidant, fights free radicals that cause oxidative stress in cells and improves skin radiance and HEPES, an acid with keratolytic action that helps eliminate dead cells and fights against brown pigment spots.
Vichy Liftactiv Collagen Specialist 16 Day Cream
This cream also feels amazing on the skin (I don’t know what it is about the formula of more expensive products as even if they’re not better than cheaper alternative, they do feel so nice on the skin). It’s light and it absorbs fast into the skin. It also contains Matrixyl, Rhamnose, Maitake, Vitamin Cg and Niacinamide.
Vichy Capital Soleil UV-Age Daily
This is a liquid SPF that does feel a little bit oily on the skin, I’m not gonna lie, but it has SPF 50 and I think it does a great job as I put it to the test in the hottest day of the summer so far. I was on a trip, out in the sun even when I shouldn’t have and my face didn’t burn at all, it’s not even a little red, I just got a nice tan. Yes, I was shiny, I haven’t found so far an SPF that doesn’t have this effect, but it did the job, so I would recommend it. It’s made with the NETLOCK technology that contains a mixture of peptides 4%, Niacinamide 2%, Vichy volcanic water 10%.
Vichy Dercos Technique Anti-dandruff Shampoo
This shampoo was strange because it’s so bright yellow. I don’t know about the itchy thing or anything else, because I could use it only once, but I feel like it does help a little with oily hair, because it seems to be not as oily as usual a day after I washed my hair and I sweated like a pig. It has a formula that is good for the scalp with 1% Selenium Disulfide to treat dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis and 1% Salicylic Acid to remove scales from the scalp.
If I were to make a top, I would say the Capital Soleil SPF fluid, the Dercos shampoo (I don’t have dandruff but I like how my hair feels), then the face serum and the face cream (not that they were bad, but I was more impressed with the SPF and the shampoo).
I hope this was useful. I would definitely continue to use these Vichy products, but they are a bit out of my budget zone. But if you can, I think Vichy is a great brand that hasn’t disappointed each time I tried it.
