I wasn’t planning to make a review on this lip treatment, but now I’m almost out of it and you know me by now, I feel the need to talk about each and every beauty product that I own because we love cheap beauty products here and we’re on the search for hidden gems all the time.

Packaging:

This lip treatment comes in a plastic tube that contains 10 ml, just like a lip gloss. This lip treatment is available in different shades, so the tube has different colors, depending on the shade. I have the shade 01 Peptacular!, which is basically a clear shade.

Texture:

It has the exact same texture as a lip gloss, so it dos feel sticky on the lips which is not something that I’m exactly a fan of.

Ingredients:

BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2 POLYBUTENE BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER DIMER DILINOLEYL DIMER DILINOLEATE PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRAISOSTEARATE SORBITAN OLIVATE SYNTHETIC WAX ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE TOCOPHERYL ACETATE BISABOLOL HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL TOCOPHEROL TRIBEHENIN SORBITAN ISOSTEARATE ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1 BETA-SITOSTEROL SQUALENE PHENOXYETHANOL AROMA (FLAVOR).

The key ingredients also mentioned on the packaging are shea butter and peptides, but the lip treatment also contains sunflower seed oil.

Price and accessibility:

essence products are available in DM stores, in their online shop and in several other online shops. I got mine from DM at the price of about 3 euros, which is more than affordable for a lip product, regardless which type of lip product it is.

My overall opinion:

You know that saying, if it looks like a lip gloss, it acts like a lip gloss and it feels like a lip gloss, it is a lip gloss. I know they call it a ”lip treatment”, but this one is just a lip gloss that also contains some peptides which I know are great for the skin and that help with the collagen production.

I don’t use it anymore during the day because I hate wearing sticky lip glosses and have that feeling that my lips are stuck together, plus the annoying feeling of having a strand of hair sticking to my lips. I use it now in the evening, when I go to bed as a lip treatment.

The effect is that in the morning the lips look a little bit fuller and plumper, but that effect doesn’t stay for long, in about half an hour my lips look just like they usually do.

I wouldn’t repurchase this lip treatment just because it’s so sticky and it’s basically a clear lip gloss. I don’t know if my expectations were higher or if the product doesn’t make it clear enough what it is, but I didn’t like it and that happens rarely, as I usually love essence products.
