Farmec Nourishing Soft Cream review

You may call me crazy, but you’ll never believe what I did with this cream. I bought it on a whim because it was constantly on sale lately and I figured it would make for a good hand cream (which it does), but now I’m using it for more than that.

Packaging:

The cream is available in a plastic tube that contains a generous amount of 150 ml. The packaging is very simple because the product is part of Farmec’s most basic line, mostly products that were part of the brand’s original portofolio.

Texture:

The cream has a very light texture, that’s why it’s called a soft cream. It also has a very discreet scent and I actually like it. I think it’s because of the argan oil because all the products that I have used with argan oil in them had this particular scent.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Paraffinum Liquidum, Glycerin, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Ceteareth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Retinyl Palmitate, Helianthus Annuus  Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Dimethicone, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Pentylene Glycol, Parfum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, BHA, BHT.

The key ingredients in this are argan oil (a great nourishing ingredient that is an excellent source of Omega 3, 6 and 9 oils), the magnesium-copper-zinc mineral complex (that protects the collagen fibers in the skin and boosts cell activity) and vitamin A (nourishing ingredient, stimulates the skin’s regeneration process).

Price and accessibility:

Farmec products are available through the brand’s online shop, in their stores in some pharmacies and even in some supermarkets. I got this cream from the brand’s online shop because it was 30% off for about 2.5 euros, which is is a steal for such a large quantity. Even at full price, it’s still very affordable.

My overall opinion:

I started to use this cream ad a hand cream and I was happy to see that it absorbs fast into the skin while still making it soft and smooth. I like to use hand creams that don’t remain sticky on the hands.

But the other use tat I have for this cream (which is a ”face, hands and body cream” by the way) is for the face. I use it in the evening because I like the light texture and it’s a good, nourishing face cream. Vitamin A and argan oil are also anti-aging ingredients in many other products that are much more expensive. So yes, I’m not ashamed to admit that use a general purpose cream for my face and I’m very happy how my skin feels and looks in the morning.

I’m not saying that you should do what I do, but lately I feel like going back to basic skin care products is just easier and much more affordable for my wallet. Why should I pay 10 or 20 euros for a face cream that lasts me only for a month when I could get a large tube with cream like this and it lasts me for about 3 months? Plus, I can use it on the hands and body without feeling guilty.

I have combination skin and it doesn’t make my skin look shiny, it didn’t break me out and it’s been just a nice experience overall with this cream, so even if I try something else here and there, I think this one will stay in my skin care collection as long as Farmec still makes it.
