This body oil is a great little gem that I found on sale at my local DM store.

Bioearth is a brand of Naturalia Tantum, an Italian company that makes all kinds of cosmetic products using natural organic ingredients. It was founded by Paolo and Sabrina Fornovo di Taro in Parma, in 1996, after their specialization in macro and microalgae. They also started to work with other experts in the field, Robert Henrikson and Ama Belay.

In 1998, the brand launched its first product range, ”The beauty seed” which contained both cosmetics and nutrition products. The products don’t contain SLS/SLES, silicons, mineral oils, parabens, PEG/PPG, formaldehyde releasers or ingredients sourced from dead animals.

In 2010, they launched a very successful product line, Bioearth sun, which was formulated with innovative filters selected in accordance with eco-organic guidelines. They continued with Loom, an eco-certified cosmetic range that contains ethical snail secretion extract, a hair care line and a mask and serums line.

Packaging:

The serum is available in a dark glass bottle that contains 50 ml and it has a dropper that’s handy to get just the right amount of product. It doesn’t seem much for a body care product, but a little goes a long way.

Texture:

The serum looks and feels just like a clear oil and it has a very light scent, so it really doesn’t bother me.

Ingredients:

ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, ROSA MOSCHATA SEED OIL*.

The ingredients list is very short and it’s self-explanatory, as it contains sweet almond oil, rose hip oil and Ethylhexyl palmitate, which is an ester of palmitic acid and 2-ethylhexanol, frequently used in cosmetics as an emollient, texturizing agent, and solvent, providing a silky feel to the skin and uniform dispersion of active ingredients.

Price and accessibility:

Bioearth products are available in DM stores, in Douglas store and in several online shops. Usually, this serum it’s sold for about 10-12 euros a bottle, but I got a great deal on it as I got it for only about 4 euros, so it’s more than worth it for me! But even at the full price, since a little goes a long way, it’s totally worth it.

My overall opinion:

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I bought this serum not for the body, but for he face. I’m really into using face serums and oils in the evening (I like to rotate them) because I do notice that the skin looks so much better. I knew rose hip oil does have a great anti-aging effect, because I used it in the past, and the sweet almond oil it’s the same. Trust me when I say, this thing is like botox in a bottle and it does wonders for fine line (I noticed this around the eye area and on my forehead where I have some fine lines). Of course, the effect is not permanent, just as long as you keep using it, but I for one do love rose hip oil and I really see how it works on the skin. I don’t know why or how it works to smooth out the skin, but it does!

You don’t need to buy this serum, you could use any good rose hip oil (make sure it’s natural, not mixed with other stuff), but the Elementa serum from Bioearth is a good option because of the big bottle. It will last me for a long time, so it’s definitely a great deal!
