My favorite Yves Rocher collection: Vanille Bourbon

At the beginning of the month it was my birthday, so I treated myself by placing an order from the Yves Rocher online store. Although their products are not as affordable as they used to be, they do have some great deals from time to time. For my birthday, they sent me a discount code for 50% off regardless of the total amount, plus two extra gifts (which were actually nice, a shower gel and an eye cream). So, I took the opportunity and ordered the entire Vanille Bourbon collection, which is my all time favorite from them.

One of the good things about Yves Rocher is that they don’t change up their products too often (although they do seem to play around with their perfumes too often for my taste). So, I do have a certain memory with the Vanille Bourbon shower gel. My husband and I were newlyweds and we were kind of poor (like most couples in Romania, to be honest) so we would use just generic shower gels or when we didn’t have money for those just some regular soap. One time, it was a special occasion or something, so I ordered a few products from Yves Rocher and one of them was this shower gel that, of course, we both used. My husband loved it so much because it smelled so nice that the entire apartment smelled like vanilla and it also felt so good on the skin. I t was a treat for us and he would often ask me when could we get another vanilla shower gel. Of course, that didn’t happen too often back then. Well, memories. Not so great memories, but I do have a soft sport for this product line.

I won’t be doing entire reviews on the products because I like them all, so I will just show you what I got.

Vanille Bourbon hand cream

It’s a small 30 ml tube that fits perfectly into he handbag, so I have it all the time on me. It absorbs fast into the skin and it the scent lingers for a while on my hands.

Vanille Bourbon shower gel

I got the big 400 ml bottle, but there is also a smaller size available (200 ml). That’s the product that started it all.

Vanille Bourbon body lotion

This has also a generous size (390 ml) and it does a great job at hydrating the skin, so you don’t need much. It also contains shea butter, which is a great ingredient for the skin and I love everything with shea butter.

Vanille Bourbon liquid soap

Honestly, it’s similar to the shower gel, but I just had to have the entire collection if I went this way, right? This one is smaller, it contains only 190 ml.

Vanille Bourbon soap

This is one of those soaps that is dark brown, so you know it has a large quantity of vanilla extract in it. Plus, it also contains sweet almond oil, which is another great ingredient for the skin. Too bad it’s only 80 grams, I don’t know why they tend to make soaps smaller.

Vanille Bourbon perfumed hair and body spray

It smells just like the rest of the products (they’re consistent regarding the smell), so I figured that in combination with the shower gel and the body lotion I could layer the vanilla scent on me so that it would last longer. This one contains 100 ml.

Vanille lip balm

This is not part of the Vanille Bourbon collection, but it does smell like vanilla, so I had to get it. This one also contains shea butter.

For all these products I paid only 21 euros (I also had some fidelity points on my client card and I was able to use them with my birthday code), so I think it was a pretty sweet deal.

Listen, if you never tried anything from Yves Rocher and you like the vanilla scent, please give this collection a try. Just know that it smells very sweet. It’s worth it, especially since vanilla extract does have some important skin benefits: it provides antioxidant protection, it has anti-inflammatory effects, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, aromatherapeutic benefits, it’s moisturizing and softening.

Do you love vanilla as much as I do? What are some of your favorite vanilla scented products?
