Usually I’m not one to make a big fuss about hand creams because they’re just basic products that I keep at hand in my bag, at my desk, in the bathroom, almost everywhere. But this hand cream turned out to be a little gem. I got it from a colleague because she doesn’t like the lavender scent. I’m not a big fan either, but I do like what lavender does for the skin so I didn’t mind using it. And it was a great find.
Aura Essential is another small business that makes handmade cosmetic products and I’m more and more excited to discover this little businesses because I’m able to support them and the products are really great.
Packaging:
The packaging is very simple, just a white plastic tube that contains 40 grams. The ingredients are all listed on the label, which is helpful, but on the website they are not all available, which they should do, especially for those who order their stuff online . I didn’t expect much of a packaging because I know small businesses don’t have the budget for custom packaging, so it’s ok.
Texture:

Now, I know the cream looks like it could be a mess and a little bit of oil also comes out when you squeeze it, so that’s why it looks a little bit yellow. The texture seems to be very thick, but trust me, it melts into the skin and it’s not greasy at all, which is something you definitely don’t want when it comes to hand creams. The scent is very pleasant because it’s not just the lavender that shines through although those who like the scent can be happy to smell it as well.
Ingredients:
Emulsifiers, urea, preservatives, vegetal glycerin, lavender water, cucumber extract, avocado oil, sunflower seed oil, hemp seed oil, lavender essential oil, geranium essential oil and neroli essential oil.
I think the neroli is what sweetens the scent of the hand cream because it’s the same oil from a face cream that I use as well. It doesn’t contain parabens, but I don’t know what preservatives are used because the description is vague about it.
Price and accessibility:
Aura Essentials products are available through the brand’s online shop (and I already plan to place an order next year because I want to try the face cream as well) or they can be probably found at fairs, where my colleague got hers from. This hand cream is sold for around 6 euros, which I know it seems a lot for just a hand cream, but it’s really good and now I appreciate how important it is to have a good hand cream and not one of those creams that make the hands slippery or that are not nourishing enough.
My overall opinion:
I decided to write about this hand cream because I love how it instantly softens the hands and it’s perfect now for the cold season. I also appreciate that it doesn’t make the hands feel oily and it absorbs fast into the skin. I love the scent and it lingers on the hand for a while and that makes me more eager to reapply it.
Overall, I think this is a great hand cream and I would purchase it on my own. Also, i want to try other products from Aura Essential, which all contain lavender and now I must admit I have become somewhat of a lavender fan.
