Nip + Fab Teen Skin Fix Spot Zap review

Since I got my Bellebox last week, let’s start by reviewing some of the products from the box. The first one on my list is this spot treatment although I have to say I couldn’t find it anywhere in stock so I don’t know if it’s discontinued or if it’s just currently out of stock.

Nip + Fab is a brand founded by Maria Hatzistefanis, the same person behind Rodial. Noth Nip + Fab and Rodial are UK-based beauty brands. This brand was founded in 2010 with the idea of offering products that were similar to high end ones, but at a more affordable price, with powerful ingredients. Their firs hit was the Glycolic Fix range, launched in 2012. Then, they had a huge break when Kylie Jenner became the face of the brand in 2015. And the rest is history.

This spot treatment is part of the Teen Skin Fix range, but it doesn’t mean that it can’t be used by anyone who deals with acne spots, which is what I do.

Packaging:

The product is available in a bright yellow plastic tube that contains 15 ml and it has a rollerball as an applicator, which makes it easy to apply and I also like the light cooling sensation on the skin. I wish more products would be available with this type of applicator. I also love the bright yellow packaging and they use different colors for their ranges so you know exactly which is which.

Texture:

The treatment is just a clear liquid and it doesn’t really have any scent. That’s why the rollerball is so handy, because otherwise I would have to use a cotton pad and that would be just a little wasteful.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water/ Eau), Alcohol Denat. (SD Alcohol 40-B), Lactobacilus/ Wasabia Japonica Root Ferment Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Polysorbate 20, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Carbomer, Glycerin, Parfum (Fragrance), Alchol, Disodium EDTA, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Benzyl Salicylate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil.

The key ingredients are salicylic acid, wasabi extract and witch hazel, but there is also eucalyptus oil and tea tree oil in this. Some of these ingredients may irritate the skin, but not if you apply it only as a spot treatment and not on larger area. Also, avoid the eye area, you really don’t want to get that near the eyes.

Price and accessibility:

Nip + Fab products are available in Romania in certain pharmacies and in several online shops, but since I couldn’t find this particular product, I will go with the retail price provided by Bellebox, which is around 9 euros. It’s not that much and you use it only as needed, so I expect this little tube to last me for quite some time.

My overall opinion:

I used this spot treatment in the evening over the last few days because I’m on my period and some acne spots seem to be inevitable no matter what I do. I do think it helps to heal the spots faster, even if it’s not some miracle worker .

Overall, I would say that if you’ re like me and you have to deal with a casual zit now and then (even if you’re not a teenager), a spot treatment is handy to have and this one is one of the better ones because it doesn’t seem to be so irritating.
