Skin Sorbet Raspberry Oh-My-Glow Dew Drops review

Continuing our little journey through the products that I received in this month’s Bellebox, I decided we should continue with this ”dew drops” which is basically a face serum. I have been using the product every day in the morning and in the evening, so I think I formed an opinion after one week.

Skin Sorbet is a Bulgarian skin care brand that has products that contain all kinds of fruit extracts, but that’s all that I could tell you about them. This product is part of their raspberry range (they also have a cherry range and an orange range).

Packaging:

The packaging is actually quite cool. It comes in this plastic bright pink bottle and it has a pump, but what’s also interesting is that it’s one of those bottles that you twist and the pump comes out. It’s just a gimmick, but it does look nice. It contains 30 ml, which is the standard quantity for a face serum.

Texture:

The serum has a very liquid consistency and a pleasant raspberry scent. I don’t know if you could tell, but there is also a pale pink shimmer shade that can be seen. I usually need two pumps for one application. It absorbs fast into the skin and it doesn’t feel sticky at all.

Ingredients:

AQUA, GLYCERIN, XYLITYLGLUCOSIDE, MICA, ANHYDROXYLITOL, MARIS AQUA, POLYSORBATE 20, SODIUM HYALURONATE, INULIN, FRUCTOSE, XYLITOL, RUBUS IDAEUS FRUIT EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED ALGIN, ZINC SULFATE, CITRIC ACID, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, PARFUM, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, CAESALPINIA SPINOSA GUM/AMMONIUM AMPS CROSSPOLYMER, TIN OXIDE, CI 77891, POGOSTEMON CABLIN OIL, DIMETHYL PHENETHYL ACETATE, COUMARIN, EUGENOL, ROSE KETONES

The key ingredients are sea water (extracted from the Noirmoutier island in France), prebiulin fos ( a prebiotic that maintains the natural balance of the skin), NMF boosting sugar complex (stimulates the production of ceramides) and algae extract. There is also raspberry fruit extract and rose ketones (fragrance compounds from the Damascene rose).

Price and accessibility:

Unfortunately, Skin Sorbet products are not available in Romania in stores or online, so I wouldn’t be able to purchase any of their products. This face serum is sold for around 23 euros according to the leaflet from Bellebox, but it’s also the same price that I found on the brand’s online shop. It’s not exactly an affordable product, but it’s also almost on the same page as dermato-cosmetics or certain “drugstore brands”. I mean, beauty products have definitely become more and more expensive lately. Would I pay so much for a face serum? No, but I’m glad I’m able to test this one.

My overall opinion:

This face serum has mostly illuminating effects on the skin, because I must say the skin does look more refreshed and less dull. And it also makes the skin feel very smooth.

What I feel is a little bit of cheating and what I found in other more expensive skin care products as well is mica (my opinion is that the light pink shimmer is due to the mica) and that’s cheating because mica is what it found in eyeshadows and highlighters. Basically, it’s shimmer that helps the light to reflect better on the skin and it gives the impression of brighter looking skin.

I don’t want to be mean, but I think this is a trick to make you think that this face serum is more amazing than what it really is. It’s not a bad products and it has certain qualities, but honestly you could most likely find something similar at half the price.

So, even if Skin Sorbet products were available in my country, I don’t think that I would hurry to purchase more.
