It’s the last day of January, so it’s only suitable that I get my review up of the last product from this month’s Bellebox. It’s a lip oil from the brand Gisou.
Gisou was founded by Negin Mirsalehi, who is passionate about keeping and she decided to start a hair care line that contains honey as an ingredient, but now there are also other products available, not only hair care stuff. “Gisou” means women’s hair in Persian.
Packaging:
The lip oil comes in a glass bottle, and it has an interesting shape, so it makes it easier to hold it in your hand. It contains 8 ml, which is a decent size for a lip oil, considering that there are plenty of other lip oils that are a lot smaller.
Texture:

This looks and feels more like a gloss than a lip oil, but what is nice about it is that it’s not sticky at all. There are a few shades available and they provide a little bit of color. The shade that we got in the box was Bee-llini Peach. I’m not crazy about the orange shade, but fortunately it’s very light so it doesn’t show up much on the lips.

The key ingredients are honey (produced in the Mirsalehi gardens), a blend of oils inspired buy the plants found in the garden, hyaluronic acid, buriti oil, jojoba seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil and blueberry seed oil. The ingredients are 97% of natural origin and there are plenty of things in here that should care for the sensitive skin on our lips.
Price and accessibility:
Gisou products are available at Sephora, in a couple of online shops and, of course on the brand’s online shop, where it’s sold for 28 euros, which is about the same price that was listed in the beauty box.
Personally, even if it does look like such a nice lip oil, with plenty of interesting ingredients, I think it’s a bit expensive for my budget. If a lipstick is something that I don’t wear every day and sometimes I even forget to use one, I do go through lip balms and lip oils rather quickly, so I wouldn’t pay the price for an expensive lip oil.
But if you do afford it, I think it’s a nice splurge item.
My overall opinion:
This is just a lip oil after all. It does feel nice on the lips and it doesn’t feel sticky at all, so that already a plus compared to cheaper lip oils, but I still wouldn’t pay the price of almost 30 euros. But, like I said, if you can afford it and you’re into good lip stuff, than I think you should give it a try. Also, I’m happy that we got this product in the beauty box because I also get to treat myself with a fancy lip product.
