Didn’t you miss my shampoo reviews? I’m always trying something new, don’t I? Oh, and I’m sorry for the AI backgrounds but there really isn’t a place in my home where I can photograph the products and be happy with the results. So please bear with me until I figure out how to do a better set up.
Now, this shampoo is something I got from my husband for Christmas and it was recommended by a nice pharmacists that we both like. Actually, she did so good with my Christmas present that I also got something for Valentine’s Day from the pharmacy (and no, I’m not complaining, I prefer beauty products over plush toys and flowers any day).
Difeel (Different Feel) is a hair care brand from the US that makes all kind of products based on natural ingredients. Mainly shampoos, conditioners, hair masks and hair oils. It was the first time I tried something from the brand and he also got me a hair oil, but more on that in a different post.
Packaging:
The shampoo comes in a plastic bottle that contains 354.9 ml (I don’t know what’s with that, maybe because there isn’t a version for the European market?). The bottle has one of those caps that you just press to open which is always a nice touch for a shampoo (because you sometimes forget to open the cap beforehand and the you have wet hair and you’re desperately trying to put some shampoo on and so on). The packaging is very simple, just the color of the label differs depending on the range. For example, this one with biotin has a blue label.
Texture:
This is a thicker shampoo, but it’s clear and it does have a scent to it. I can’t say that I love it but I also don’t hate it. It’s just there. What I find it’s interesting is that it doesn’t lather as much, so I probably tend to use a little bit more than I would usually do with other shampoos.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Biotin, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Caffeine, Polyquaternium-10, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Propylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Parfum, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal.
The formula is paraben-free and phthalates-free. The key ingredients are biotin, castor oil and caffeine, to stimulate hair growth, make it thicker, stronger and healthier.
Price and accessibility:
Here in Romania, the products from Difeel are available exclusively in Catena pharmacies (as far as I can tell). This shampoo is sold for around 10 euros, which is not that bad considering that it’s a big bottle and also, sometimes you can find it on sale because it’s one of the exclusive brands available in the Catena pharmacies.
My overall opinion:
Now it’s been almost two month since I use this shampoo (in combination with another one because I always like to switch up on the shampoo and use two at he same time), and what I can tell you is that you shouldn’t expect to see any miracle growth from a shampoo because honestly I don’t think that that’s possible. However, I did notice less hair fall and also it does make the hair look shiny and beautiful and it doesn’t make my roots look oily although I had my concerns regarding that castor oil.
Overall, it’s a nice shampoo but it’s not something that I would go out of my way to repurchase again. I would just chalk it up to the ”ok” products category.
